I didn't get prompted for the Launcher to use when I installed, and I'm not sure how to find the new JY style launcher with the speed display. Anyone know how to change the launcher on this 5.1.1 image?
@grahamwright1...Sorry can't answer your question; but can you answer mine? please!
The launcher location on kk 4.4.4 is selected under Settings\Home...but you probably
already know this.

you can go into apps for the existing launcher and clean defaults or if there is a home option in settings like the 4.4.4 ROM you can change it there.

@Malaysk
Does the correct 5.1.1 LP dated 7-6(416MB) by Malaysk for the update for a JY 3188 1024X600 rar file have the word 'OLD' in it??? Just don't want to brick my head unit. Is there another later file with 'NEW' in the name?....just confused by the label of 'OLD'....thanks!.....or anyone that has upgraded, answer to what is the correct file!
The download link from the first post gives a file called:
update_5_1_1_FUSE_1024X600_RK3188_01_MAL…

That's what I used to upgrade from 4.4.4 to 5.1.1

@grahamwright1: thanks for your answer. That file has the word "OLD" at the end
before the dot rar. I have to assume that that is the right one. But now I run into
another question. How to know if I have a Malaysk "FUSE" ROM. I'm using his update.img dated Sept 18 2015.

I don't think you have a FUSE ROM as he started releasing those with the 2016-01-11 release I believe. You should follow the instructions for a non-FUSE update instead.

Good luck!

@grahamwright1 : Thanks very much...and you are correct! It did not work since I did not have a 'FUSE' rom but I had no way of knowing that. Will try the non-FUSE way
and I should be good to go....thanks!

I think, You can not backup the full system. Only way, if you have an original copy of stock ROM from HU manufacturer. While, your unit shows MTCB-KLD5-**** MCU , Your HU's manufaturer was KLD (Klyde). The stock firmware downloadable from here .

Do you think the rom 5.1.1 work on my device?

Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA Free mobile app
At first sight, your HU's CPU is RK3188 & HU is MTCB, so it is match with this firmware. Before, you download something, you must have to know, what is your HU's screen resolution, and the entering procedure into recovery mode, on your HU. You must have this knowledge. Before You do anything, it must exercise it, and also how can you navigate your self in recovery menu. Thats could be help you, if something will be wrong, and may be You get a blank screen.....

This 5.1 update is missing the lib files for 3g etc.
I just added the lib files to the rom and recompile it and my 3g modem is working now, still no Apn settings on Settings but in my case is not needed.
Hmm ... why did you write it here? Show off? Do not write .... I do not respect those people who shows off by doing nothing, modems work, it was necessary to write you such a cool ??????

The new ROM is really nice and seems a lot smoother than 4.4.4 so many thanks! I do have one difference and that is when I switch into reverse - under 4.4.4 The backup camera displayed an image, but under 5.1.1 it only displays a white screen.

I went back to the 4.4.4 and the camera displays correctly. Does anyone have any ideas as to why the camera feed would display a white screen on 5.1.1?

hello

Thank you for your answer.
I read your signature, apparently you have the same device of me "S07".

Do you have tested the version 5.1.1 ?

Thanks in advance for your answer

Yes I did, and still use it. You can see, if you read post #29 . If you also have KLD (Klyde) unit (beside model S07) than yes, we are having a same unit......
