Yes, you can get MTP connection.

Don't give up so easily., There are plenty of answers here.

Many devices? I have dock for the NOTE only because I need no other devices.

Perhaps you are one of those people that are better off with an iphone.

I like the GN a lot more than the iPhone but I was hoping someone give me some clear cut answers. I was trying to work out why one protocol is better than the other? I am just trying to learn from the experts.

Guys - just for your information...

After reading all 287 pages over the last few weeks finally decided to upgrade from RR ICS3 and Franco Kernel 5 to RR4.1. Followed nowipe instructions and got stuck at splashscreen. Tried reflashing but would not go past splashscreen (panic!)

Followed fullwipe instructions and managed to get past splashscreen (had two bootloops but third time went on to setup screen). I am now updating all apps and settings again

Has been a very nervous hour or so, but on road to recovery. Never had this problem flashing Rocket Roms before, but good to know that the flashing back to Abyss 4.2 and clearing caches/factory reset works.

Hope this helps any of you that are thinking of switching to ICS, or upgrading kernel.

Will see how 4.1 goes without flashing other kernels. Hopefully will solve hardware read error a few of us have been getting. Will update after a few hours if I don't see the error!

EDIT: Tried to install S3 theme but locked up at Samsung splashscreen. Gone back through fullwipe Glad its a long weekend here

Loving RR V4 and speedmod's kernel, it's been pretty much flawless. Unfortunately had my first SOD 2day and had to pull the battery out. This was a fullwipe from V3 so I don't know what could be causing it. Thought I would check if anyone on here has had the same problem?

Tried full wipe method yesterday and all is good. I'm at 4.1 now. Noticed 1 strange thing, I cannot copy anything to /sdcard/usbstorage. Every time I copy something inside that folder, It will always get deleted no matter what.

Tried using many file manager on the phone directly or through usb cable on my comp. Said copied successfully, but after a minute or so, anything inside that folder is gone...Hahaha...A ghost has possesed my note...

You mean you cannot copy anything to external usb via USB OTG cos usbstorage is where you get the sda folder when you plug any external usb...

to make it more clear, when you plug an external usb to the phone you'll get the following:

/sdcard/usbstorage/sda/*files on usb*

anything else deleting itself in other folders?

What ROM are you coming from? You can try flashing a kernel other than CF using CWM. Try Franco or Speedmod.

Flash Abyss 4.2, then go to advanced in Recovery and Reboot Recovery. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT, flash RR ROM before doing that.

i cant even flash abyss kernel anymore it just reboots...this is real bad...and i cant even open odin...why?
