Keep a good work!

Hola Carlos, I really appreciate your work to bring a new life for Redmi 4A, I really hope the ROM work well, after several hour to use the room, I found some bug,
1. Random Reboot
2. Unstable data connection (network & Wi-Fi)
3. Camera, it's work but sometime lag
Maybe it's all that I found, I use this phone for work, I cannot use the ROM for long, because i cannot use "Sunfish Go" application on it. The apps is running but I can't record my absence the reason is "Session expire" always appear when I tap in/out. Then I revert back to MiUI Global Room.

I expecting stable update soon.
What I like from this ROM is I can expand my memory to Micro SD card to install all application. Unlike MiUI that locked to do so.

Thank you for the effort. God bless u Carlos.

Yes, previous builds were not as stable but I've been using 20170807 image as my daily driver and its really stable.

1. No random reboots in my case. Maybe try a clean install of the latest 20170815 build. (Make sure to do a full backup first).
2. Wi-Fi connection is stable (Try WiFi bonding module in Magisk). No idea about data because it varies with provider.
3. Haven't used camera much.

Maybe try Mi EU ROM, https://xiaomi.eu/community/ which is based on Mi Global ROM but with less bloatware and more performance. :)

Is MI EU ROM have feature to "Format SD Card as Internal"? This is the feature that I need. Xiaomi Global ROM lock the feature, so I have to dig some ways to solve the limited storage to install my Applications.

I used 'Obb on SD' module on Xposed Framework to solve it, but I think is not enough yet, because it's only store OBB files, and my internal storage still suffer low free space.

That's why I use AOSP ROM like Lineage OS. I use SanDisk 128Gb UHS I 80mb/s as External storage. I know the risk of speed of application if I store application on External storage.

Thanks for your info.

Search on the play store by App2SD (the blue one) and use it, I have a simple how to here on xda that you can search.

I used App2SD, Link2SD and similar application, but non of those apps can move my Apps to External SD Card on MIUI 8 Global ROM.

Thanks anyway for your info mate.

App2SD still needs SDcard formatted as Internal Storage to work on Marshmallow onwards, so it's kinda pointless
My SD is not formated as internal its has two partitions and it can move the apks and its data.

Thank you for your work, Carlos. I've just installed it, and it's perfect so far. :D :D :D

But I can't seem to persist TWRP on my Redmi 4A. I flashed it with flashboot (flashboot flash recovery recovery.img), but when I try to boot into recovery mode (Power + Vol Up), it gets stuck at Mi logo. I could only boot into TWRP with flashboot (flashboot boot recovery.img). Is this what you meant on What's not working section?

Yes, that's the bug mentioned in the OP.

Just enable Advanced reboot (Settings -> Developer -> Advanced reboot) and enable it.

Also disable Update Cyanogen recovery (Settings -> Developer -> Update Cyanogen recovery) so that it doesn't overwrite TWRP.

Done, and it worked when selecting the recovery option, so TWRP is de facto installed. The other option was already disabled.

PSA: If you're using Magisk, upgrade to v13.6 BETA as its really stable and has never crashed.

FYI, when I patched v13.6 BETA over 13.3, there were errors. So I uninstalled Magisk using the official uninstaller via TWRP, rebooted to system and then again installed v13.6 BETA and it worked fine.

Also safetynet check passes successfully without installing universal safetynet module.

Oh, thank you very much. :)

Solution to Xiaomi bootloader unlock

For those struggling to unlock the bootloader with Xiaomi, like I was before, use a chinese proxy. Before using it, I was getting a chinese error message that said something about IP requests limit reached. I tried from different computers, even on my mobile network, but was getting the same error.
