That's the only thing I can think of that would be wrong.
And SuperSU 2.82 SR1: http://download.chainfire.eu/1114/SuperSU/SR1-SuperSU-v2.82-SR1-20170608224931.zip

When it reboots means either you're not on B182+ or you don't have TWRP 3.1.0. It's because there's no loop support in builds before 182 and no loop support in twrp 3.0.2 or 3.0.3.

I tried flashing the ROM.
I was on L29C636.
Formatted data in TWRP, installed ROM and data for the 636, cleared cache and dalvik. But it fails to boot. After a few bootloops it goes to erecovery.

This has been reported to happen if you don't select OEM unlock in Developer Settings prior to flashing the recovery. Go back to stock and ensure this is set first.

chinese symbols in the info bar
old finger print persistent
su binary update isn't working
long wait time in the boot screen message for unlocked phoens
hi care update from app store isn't downloadable
accu percentage isn't visable next to the symbol if activated...
viper driver isn't installed and could not be installed
su requests works very slowly
No SD Card error ... not enough space.. no download possible

thems to be very buggy!

The Primary advantages for me are that it is natively rooted, KangVIP gives some nice setting tweaks, and it is debloated. Apparently scrolling performance is also improved. Just eagerly waiting on B185 now.

Chinese symbols exist next to the date... annoying
SuperSu always asks to update, but I just dismiss. I installed the file directly and that improves later issues.
Long wait = True, but no boot menu. It about evens out.

Viper works if you flash SuperSu .zip
Su requests are immediate if you flash the .zip
SD card works fine for me. You may need to format as it apparently only supports exfat for >= 64 GB cards. Stupid, but it's an android/kernel issue. I want Ext4/F2FS if possible.

Just as a side-note, I would also recommend not flashing the data partition.

This is eventually not a bad ROM; but it wasn't working for me. I've flashed now a STOCK full OTA Update and I've simply rooted this afterwards.

I've updated my Phone with HOWTA method, with the latest build from TEAM MT. Did a deep factory reset by unlocking the bootloader again after flash and flashed after this twrp-3.0.2-2-hi3660.img and ROOT with mate_9_pro_root.zip + Incl. App: Superuser_2.0_Beta_9.apk.

This ROOT version is faster and works fine for me. This will not be updated by the App Store and the update for the SuperSU Binaries will not crashing the mount structure. The main issue was the ROOT package. In RomAur-v1.5 the SuperSU APK will be updated by google and it is reqeusting the latest binaries. Also it is working very slowly. And last but not least, none of the latest su binaries working after flashing with TWRP. For my setup I was only able to ROOT with the old one, form the following sources.

Edit: i installed this rom on my Mate 9. This rom is incredible right now for me. All apps and features works for me except the Viper4And, however; i still work on this (for installing drivers). If the battery consumption is greather than my old rom, i stay this rom forever.
