Rombie mod v2a for Froyo

TESTED ON XXJPH AND XXJPK

Rombie v2a (JPK/JPH)

Full: http://www.filesonic.com/file/19797501/rombie_2a_FULL.zip
-
All v2 features
- Removed Ryanza's lagfix (he has a newer version but I couldn't directly integrate it since it still requires your PC)
- Updated the theme with the extra "auto rotate" icon

Lite:
http://www.filesonic.com/file/19797935/rombie_2a_LITE.zip

- Same as Full version but with bloatware removed

ALTERNATIVE THEMES:

RedRombie by Mycorrhiza:
http://www.filesonic.com/file/20773687/framework-res.rar
Same as regular theme but with a red scheme instead of blue.

INSTALLING THE THEME:

1 Download from the market Root Explorer
2 Run it and close abititing the super user access
3 Put framework-res.apk in your galaxy
4 Open Root explorer, make sure you have select on the top "mounted as r/o" and copy framework-res.apk in system\framework
5 Waiting for the reboot
6 Enjoy!

Lite:
- same as full version, but with some samsung bloatware removed

NOTE: Be sure to always start from a clean JPH flash.
If you have never flashed a Froyo rom before, I suggest following these instructions carefully

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8157213&postcount=289

YOU MUST FLASH THE I9000KERNEL.TAR, FLASH THE ROM, THEN FLASH I9000XXJPH_KERNEL.TAR

thanks Raykoid, will try this once i get home , the default JPC Rom was drianing a lot of battery even when not in use , is that still the case with this mod too ?

I do have to speak for myself when I say the default JPC didn't have much battery drain here even, so I don't know if it'd be much different for this mod, though it does have launcherpro which is known to be waaaay better than touchwiz

thanks!

screens please ?

no real point in making screenshots right now as it doesn't look much different from stock (except for the fact it DOES have launcherpro though

Not sure if it was due to me using it on a captivate whenever i flashed JPC my battery would drain within 10 hrs and when i look at battery history --> other usage --> it would show running 100%

whereas while i am on other ROms it used to show the proper running time like 20-25%

anyways thanks for the rom , will try it out soon

Oh yeah, that was a known issue, you probably used the 512 pit file...

you MUST use the 803 pit file when you flash JPC, it SHOULD fix those issues

I get a 404 file not found (tried the full version)
after waiting for the timeout on the hosting site.

should work now, works here

Is there any screenshots?

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

not yet, since there isn't much to take screenshots of

most there is to see for now is the launcherPro UI (which in turn can be fully themed to your likings, easily by downloading themes)

Please do not ask for re-uploads.

I have been with this hosting service for a long time now and re-uppign will make me lose control over my own uploads.

If anyone re-ups for this guy, please PM him the link and do not post it here, thanks for your understanding!

For install Rombiev2a this is clear "Extract and copy update.zip to /sd of phone
Run Odin with Auto Reboot UN-checked, loading the i9000_Kernel.tar as PDA
Put the phone into download mode and flash the i9000 Kernel.
Pull the battery. reboot into recovery mode and flash the update.zip you put in the root folder of your sdcard.
Pull the battery again, reboot into download mode again.
Run Odin with Auto Reboot checked, loading the I9000XXJPH_KERNEL.tar as
    reboot."

but my question is: I already use kies for install jph, and seem work good.. now wish try Rombiev2a,I need also return to jpc and after again jph ( like i find in the first post) or i can just loading i9000_kernel.tar, flash update.zip and after loading I9000xxjph_kernel.tar?

sorry for question i just ask because i use kies for flash jph..
