As far as CM7 is concerned, the VIDEO DRIVER HAS NOT BEEN UPGRADED... It is using the default driver that came with CM7 Kernel. It is Scheduled to be upgraded, but I don't have the time frame...

Check my Kernel Threads below to read the latest updates regarding the status of your Kernel
I meant to sound more vague and to mention to check your thread, but I forgot, whoops! Thanks for the clarification.

Note, if anyone was using the previous nexus s rom by jaywan you can just flash right above it, no need to wipe, been working well for me

Am I the only person having issues with video playback on RoyalGinger and CM7? Let's say I record q minute long video using my MT4G. When I open Gallery to play that video back and I keep switching the viewing mode from say vertically to landscape mode and back as it plays, the video player will start to tweak out. Sometimes I have to take the battery out because the playback will trip out big time and leave me with a weird static looking screen and I'm not able to back out of it.

It seems like a similar issue the MT4G had on the original stock 2.2 ROM with YouTube playback.

I always format, wipe both caches, wipe boot along with system and I even format my SD card. I know It's not my cell became I have zero issue when running RoyalThunderbolt, Ice Glacier or the stock 2.2.1 ROM. Anyone? I would love to run Gingerbread but I don't want to be extra careful when viewing videos in fear of having to pop the battery out.
Same thing happens on Jaywan's Nexus S 2.1 ROM.. Just thought I' throw that in there..

hmmmm so as i stated in page 16 or 17 that the LED flash stopped working for me. I tried redoing everything and did not fix it. I tried a different kernel but still no luck. It all started when i tried playing with the torch and making it brighter, pressing ok withthe warnings and stuff and after a few seconds it stopped working :( can anyone help me to put it back to stock so i could take it back to tmobile and get an exchange for it :) thanks for your help.

BTW i love this ROM :)

Ouch... That's why I disabled DeathRay Mode in my CM 2.0.0+ kernels... I just don't trust it... Your LED is burnt... Read how to unroot from here and go exchange for a new one from T-mobile...

check out the android development section (this thread is in it) or the Q&A section.

many different threads on this specific topic. different methods, etc on getting back to S-on / unrooting

lol i found it i turns out i just had to rename it and reboot to bootloader for it to work. I was trying to apply it as a zip from sd :)

i will let you guys know if it will make the flash work again or not. If it does then something need to be checked out in either kernel or rom

EDIT!

*****verdict on the LED flash: Hardware failure, i called T-mobile and they dont have any answer for it lol. I hope they would replace it :)

This is probably the wrong place for this. But the "speed dial" functionality in the sense rom is a great feature. Is there any way to add that to the dialer in this rom? Frankly I'm surprised it is not a part of any stock android build thus far.

Again, probably the wrong place, but I would love to see that added.

JIC- the speed dial I mention is the press-and-hold function that has been standard on most phones for years.

FFC Issue

First off, i just wanna say that i am in LOVE with this rom, it's amazing, smooth, fast, and everything i need out of a daily user rom. i have, however, encountered a single problem, with the ffc. it seems as though using the ffc in video calls is not an option. just thought i would throw this out there, as it's a feature i use quite often. thanks again!

ya dude this is the top of the mountain as far as ROMs go for this device IMHO..I think I heard Tango was working w FFC but not positive.

and just so you know I can assure you we have a very capable and dedicated team of developers working hard on this ROM to make sure its the very best it can be. this is only version 1.1 and 1.2 is going to drop extremely soon. I'm testing on it as I type this and its even faster and smoother than 1.1 as promised.

all bugs and issues will almost certainly be ironed out asap. I know royalknight reads these forums daily but I'll bring this to his attn and make sure the devs are working on this. chances are they already are.

Thanks guys for all your comments in trying to make this ron the best thing around. I heard your cries and I will get right on these for v1.2 even though I have my testers using a 1.2 already that I sped up drastically. I will add the fixes to theses issues. I am all about pleasing the user. I love vanilla roms and gingerbread is freaking awesome so I will keep trying to make this rom better and better. 1.2 is already smoother and faster then 1.1 and my testers can vouch that its AMAZING. Lol. Anyways thanks foe your dedication to this rom.

Faux123's 2.0.3 lv kernel is very crisp and responsive this morning. Curious if your testers are using this version of the kernel?

FWIW, Wifi signal appears stronger as well.

yep - I've been on faux's 2.0.3 .. the wifi driver was updated in 2.0.2 and the video driver was updated in 2.0.3 .. among a couple of other tweaks/enhancements i believe. i've noticed a small improvement in wifi performance since 2.0.2

everything is smooth as could be over here. verrrry nice.

also with the build.prop updates to the hsdpa in 1.2 - i'm seeing an improvement in 4g signal/data. it's not like a huge night/day difference but it's noticeable and a nice little bonus. gps is supposed to be somewhat improved also with this but i haven't really been able to do a lot of testing on that. i did notice that loading directly into google navigation - i was able to lock a satellite sitting on my couch .. which usually even when i'm not INSIDE i would have to get a sat lock using maps first and then load navigation .. so i'm optimistic that we may be seeing some gps improvement here also.

three thumbs up to royalknight (as usual), faux (as usual) , and the rest of the team!

Wait what did you just say......sparksmod...um No...the best G1 rom is and will always be BiffMod, hands down. Some of the things that are making this Rom awesome and fast my team developed when we were working on Biffmod. That's all I am going to say about that.

Thanks guys, yes almost the testers that are testing 1.2 have 2.0.3 because Faux is part of the Team we got the kernel a day or two before going public so we could test it. Thanks for the thumbs up. I agree 4G signal and strength is better and GPS seems quicker.

i don't know why that would be ... it should be the same wifi driver as 2.0.2 and nothing else should be affecting that as far as I know

internet speed tests can be very subjective/finicky and there are so many factors that could play into why it's fast this time and slower another time (time of day, network traffic, server related dealys, interference from other devices, your router, etc)

when you flashed 2.0.3 did you follow the instructions on page 1 of fauxs page? (clear both caches and let it boot up COMPLETELY..several mins..then reboot?)

if so, try reflashing the kernel and this time fix permissions after flashing the both caches. make sure you let it boot completely up and then reboot.

don't mean to sound over obvious but try rebooting your router also to make sure that's not the issue..

Flashed the 2.0.3 faux kernel. Has anyone else noticed the battery life doesn't seem as good as the 1.3?
