lol, i wondered who was gonna say something about that first. git tags that to the back of the name when you pull down source code from a certain branch, make some modifications to the code, and then don't commit the changes. it doesn't really mean anything. it's not like i have a github at this point for the brand new kernel so i wasn't real worried about committing my code changes, resyncing, etc.

i started to give you a sweet story about how the kernel failed an STD test but it was on some meds and it was gonna be cleared up in a few days .. but honestly, i'm just out of energy!

PHEW
LMFAO, get some sleep and then wake up to the encore of thanks and applause!!!

One word... WOW!

Now a few more words... WOW WOW WOW!

And Some final words... That boot animation is tits! Only problem (one I will gladly live with)... This damn ROM boots so friggin' fast you don't have time to see the whole animation! This is a back handed compliment... i think? ;)

Thanks, I thought the data might mess something up so I wanted to ask before going any further.
i HIGHLY recommend NOT restoring data on SYSTEM apps (i think they're in green on the backup/restore menu in titanium) .. this can cause some issues .. ESP if you screw up and restore data from data that was backed up from a different version of android ..

be real cautious here .. i only restore data on apps like XDA, dropbox, etc. for login information and such

That is a good call. Sorry I forgot to mention that. I always hand select the apps I backup and never backup system apps.

OMG!!!!

The only thing i can say is make sure you watch the awesome bootup image the first time cause this baby starts up so fast that you dont have time to see it after that.

About flash videos and desktop mode

If you would like to view flash videos on the stock browser via desktop mode, you might run into issues with only being able to hear the audio. Download Skyfire off of the market for free, set it to desktop mode under settings within the browser and make sure you have adobe flash installed.

Hey ckisgen,

What kernel is 2.0 based on, and what version?

Thanks!
this is a clip from my post a few pages back ... but i know it's already buried. just added it to OP (still WAY more to come on the changelog. it's gonna be insanely long)

MORE INFO ON ckisgen-smartass-CM7-v1.0 KERNEL:

bundled in RG2.0 is my first kernel build ckisgen-smartass-CM7-v1.0 . this was compiled using a base of zinx's latest CM7 stock kernel but i've added in the smartass governor (with some inspiration from dumbfuqs source code, thanks df!) and then tweaked a couple of addt'l values. i've bumped the default max clock to 1.1ghz. this kernel will overclock to 1.8ghz. i've got LOTS of plans for this in the future. i'm going to be working hard on it. i went with something like this for maximum compatibility with this latest 2.3.4 base and all the changes that it's brought about.

the ROM is awesome snappy with this kernel. but i will be maintaining/updating/supporting this kernel with new releases and many more tweaks and optimizations! stay tuned....
