still running RG 1.1 since I'm still in my my rig till this weekend, but I am loving it (first non-Sense ROM I have stuck with for more than a couple of hours). after finally finding out what RoyalMint is I don't know what I am looking forward to more RoyalHoney or Mint (I'm a Sense addict thanks to this phone)

by the way y'all if you are using this or CM7 DON'T RUN SetCPU!!! you are causing undue issues with the kernel, unless you have SetCPU settings matched identical to CM CPU Settings. RG and CM7 have a cpu tuner built into them, Menu>Settings>Cyanogen settings>Performance>CPU Settings.
ok, well the developer of the kernel that is on this ROM says completely otherwise ... quote from his instructions:

CM Settings -> CPU Performance does NOT set the CPU speed/governor properly with my kernel... Still need SetCPU 2.1.x in order to make the changes stick.

----

I, personally, am going to stick with the developer of the kernel on this, but you guys are all free to do whatever you'd like with your phone :D

Will all the wipe instructions make me lose all my files on my sd card?
EDIT: didn't realize you could mount your SD card within recovery..genius! no need to reboot to transfer the ROM .zip back to your freshly formatted SD card, in recovery - click on 'Mounts and Storage' and then 'mount USB storage' and drop it in there (connect USB cable to your comp...duh), i've edited my instructions below to reflect this..

yes, if you format your SD card (which is recommended) you will lose all data .. back them up to your computer, format it ... then mount USB within recovery , transfer the ROM zip onto the cleaned SD ...then full wipe and install

.. is how I do it anyway

As with any ROM ymmv... so I'm going to tweak the settings a bit more. So far, the only thing that bugs me is that the pattern lock screen sometimes doesn't show up after the display times out, or if I hit the power button to turn off the display. I've checked the settings menu and made sure that the lock screen activates "immediately" after the display is turned off. Not a deal breaker, but I'd rather not have it this way.

Also, during some screen off/screen on testing, the display froze on me midway through it's power on animation.

Other than that, it's pretty sweet! Keep up the good work and I look forward to 1.3!

So are we supposed to match profiles? Which one controls the other?

no, just make sure the one within cyanogen settings isn't 'set on boot' ... just use setCPU however you normally would (i just use smartass gov and default clock speeds 1.1ghz max 245hz min) and you can check 'set on boot' for setcpu .. make sure you autodetect the default speeds FIRST after flashing a new ROM/kernel (it should come up on the splash screen upon initial run of setcpu after installing a new ROM on a full wipe...but if not, just hit the 'menu' button on the main screen of setCPU and press 'device selection' then 'autodetect speeds' .. after that you're good to go!

after doing a complete wipe (including SD card) and installing ROM and faux's kernel everything ran fine until I re-installed SetCPU 2.1.0, unless I matched the settings between CM CPU Tuning and SetCPU I am getting massive lag and random reboots even at "low" speeds ei. 1017 or 1113 max with 245 or 368 min.

is there any way to over ride the CM tuning so I can go back to SetCPU?

royal and you please tell me what is RoyalMint
from what RoyalKnight posted several pages back it is Sense 2.3

check out my post two above yours ... as long as 'set on boot' isn't set within your cyan. settings and you've autodetected speeds on setCPU - you should be good ...

one thing that may help ... download faux's 2.0.4 kernel, turn OFF set on boot in setCPU (should already be off in cyan. settings), boot into recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, fix permissions ... now flash the kernel ... now boot system .... DON'T PRESS ANYTHING and let it boot completely up (wait like 5 mins at least) ... then reboot ... let it boot completely up again (3-5 mins) ... NOW autodetect speeds within setCPU ... then set your clock speeds min/max where you want it, check 'set on boot' and go...

if you still have issues ... flash faux's 2.0.4 SV instead of LV and see if that helps

Noob question. In root explorer, my /data states 191 MB used. In manage apps settings, the internal storage says 249 MB used. Why the disparity?

phanio00 - not a noob question .. i believe this was brought up a page or two back by someone else .. royalknight is looking into this...my guess is it will be patched on 1.3, which him and the rest of the dev team is working on now ... hopefully i'll be testing it soon :D

thanks man, where is Bill Engvall... I need a big ass "STUPID" sign... I went back double checked everything and my CM Settings had "set on boot" checked. I had SetCPU setup as 1113 max 245 min with smartass and set on boot checked, CM was setup as default 1017 max 245 min with ondemand and set on boot checked.

now to go back and fix my other post, I didn't check the CM setting before installing and setting up my SetCPU.

ItsMeMasih - you may wanna try flashing faux's 2.0.4 SV (standard voltage) kernel and see if that helps any of these issues for you .. follow my instructions above to ravenwulf (a couple posts up) on the proper procedure for flashing one of faux's kernels

It was actually me who brought it up earlier. I tested an hypothesis earlier today and it was proven false. I did another full wipe and installed, but still the disparity. I must admit I am a bit amazed no one else noticed.

Anyway, back to more hypotheses.

The 2nd boot should and I say SHOULD ;) be a shorter boot cause you wont be wiping anything. so it should be shorter. I know with RoyalLiquid there is a shorter boot on 2nd. thanks for the comments. we work hard to bring these Roms to you guys and we have more things coming soon and in development. Lets see:

RoyalMiui
RoyalBlur
RoyalMint (Sense 2.3)
RoyalStreak (Not sure we are looking into it)

So the 4G will live forever.
Long live the Royal Team! You guys are truly what the MyTouch 4G community needed. Thank you for all your work.
