make sure you UNCHECK set on boot in cm7 performance settings ... and also - if you're installing setCPU for the first time (since a new kernel and/or ROM flash .. or EVER for that matter) - then reboot your device after installing and after you've booted up and gotten to your lockscreen - WAIT 5 minutes (don't touch anything!!) for it to fully boot ... NOW go into setCPU and press the menu button, the autodetect settings and let it do it's thing. now, you can click 'set on boot' in SETCPU and you'll be good to go for everyday use ... (these are NOT instructions for getting high synthetic benchmark scores...just how to get your device running properly with the awesome kernel that's included with this ROM)
i also recommend a reflash of the kernel for....well really everyone for now. ESPECIALLY if you've got kernel related issues (wifi, GPS, screen lag, reboots, freezes, etc) ... this is very temporary and we should have this fixed on the next release, v1.3 .. but for now, there's a glitch in the initial flash/boot script that is causing some people's kernels to underperform. REFLASHING THE SAME KERNEL FIXES THIS. more instructions coming in a new post i'm going to make below...thanks guys
