Nothing is really recommended. Just try which out you like the best, I think results vary on every one.
As for me, the most recent Panache radio has been working great for me. Maybe you should try that one first.

I was having GPS issues for a while and the only thing that worked was turning my GPS on and restarting my phone, then it would work fine. The only thing that worked for me to get it going again was to download GPS Status from the market, use that to clear the gps cache and agps data, restart the phone, turn GPS on, open up GPS status to download new aGPS data and it worked fine after that. I don't have to turn GPS on and restart my phone to get it to work anymore.
I actually tried that, and every step failed. Boot, bootloader, system, etc. It would look like it's flashing the radio and then get stuck at the very end. So I figured maybe a batter pull would completely brick it at that point? Nope... even tried doing a battery pull half way through all the steps that were failing, didn't work. I can still get into hboot and see that S-OFF and get into recovery. Can't do much else.
@faux123 - it was actually very easy to get t-mobile to send me another replacement. I, immediately after calling, got on the line with the tech support guy who sent me over to "advanced tech support" to do a master reset. I told her what was going on and that I already did a "master reset" and it was still having that problem. She didn't even question anything and put in the order for a new phone. I'm just a little nervous sending the other one back but you're right, the insurance deductible or restocking fee is a lot better than paying full price.
Also, I just checked the eMMC on the replacement I have and it has the good chip, so I better not have any more problems with this phone! And I'm going to make sure I put the eng. bootloader on this time lol =)

Just tested the latest build of 2.2. It's running faster than ever! If you folks thought 2.1 was good, wait until you try 2.2! I'm getting about 6-800 more points in quad thanks to the brand new kernel. 2.2 is like 2.1 but on steroids! I can't wait to run 2.2 final as my daily driver! I doubt it'll get any better than this....

GPS is controlled by the ROM. It's one of the few things which isn't affected by the kernel. That being said, one of the major selling points of Royal Ginger has been it's OUTSTANDING GPS functionality. If you are having issues, refer to that link. If you're still having issues, redownload, full wipe as described here (NOTE: If you haven't installed the Eng Bootloader, don't fastboot wipe, just stick to the wipes within clockwork recovery) and then reinstall you're new version. Don't forget to verify the MD5SUM of the new download if it comes to that.

Is there any way to get my number to stop disappearing from call settings/additional setting. Im not sure why it happens but I notice it at least once a week because when it happens my pic does not show up in my text messages. Not really a big deal but just figured I would ask
2.1 is plenty fast as is..wanna see more functions and bug fixes instead..e.g. gtalk vid still has a few probs..

My google maps does not work. Also I installed the beta version of swype but it says the trial has expired and that I need to upgrade the version. Is there a work around for this?
