I had that same problem too but I was able to fix it without turning crt animations off. My profile for set cpu when screen is off was both max min at 245mhz and I just raised the max to 765mhz. Hope this helps.

I wish that would help me but I didn't even have setcpu installed when I was having the problems. I like all the fancy features and animations! I want them to work.. Damn phone!

Yeah my battery life has taken a serious nose dive.
This helped me:

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED/READ ME:
1) Turn OFF both Screen On AND Off Animations (Settings > RoyalGinger settings > Display)
2) In Spare Parts - Set Window & Transition animations to 'Fast' or 'OFF' .. this will greatly speed up switching between apps, etc.
3) TURN OFF live wallpapers if you experience any sorts of odd/unexpected behavior
4) If you are using setCPU - try uninstalling that (and rebooting) if you have out of the norm issues .. this app seems to cause some weirdness with a small fraction of users device

set WiFi sleep policy to "never"
you dont want wifi turning off when screen sleeps, then it has to reconnect everytime you unlock.

this helps about 90% of the problems, but there still are a couple of persistent issues.
for instance, around 30% of the time i get the following quirkiness:
get home from work, turn wifi on in my apt, phone should re-connect to my saved wifi profile - but it doesnt connect unless i actually go into "menu-settings-wireless-wifi settings" and then it all of a sudden remembers to verify the IP address and connect.

not all the time, but often enough to be mildly annoying.

don't you have some ROMs that you should be pretending to be 'cooking'?

(aka - taking the cutting & pasting work of other former XDA users who have been banned over and over again from this site and then sticking your own name on it and acting like it was all you?)

and yes, everyone .. don't hold your breath for 2.2 because RoyalGinger v3.0 is on it's way thru testing now.

I apologize for the several week delay and my recent absence. I ran into a couple unexpected last minute issues with the former 2.2 later test builds and just wasn't able to make the time to handle it before now. I'm a single dad who is also self employed so sometimes "life" happens. I'm sure the majority of you sane XDA users at large out there over the age of 18 1/2 know what I'm talking about.

I want to give a big thank you to @2leaponover1 for donating his Glacier to me for my development use. He is a big reason I was able to get everything back up and going so quickly once some things settled back down for me on my end. If you guys see him around, make sure you hit his Thanks button!

You guys won't be disappointed with this one - I promise. I'm sure you'll think it was worth the wait. The best is about to get better. Again. I threw in some extra treats since most of you guys have been ultra patient, as always. Thanks again for all the support you guys.

Myself or someone actually on the team will keep you in the loop on the status of testing and the impending release .. especially if we run into any unexpected delays.
Thank you for your time "ckisgen"

Please everyone who's having battery life issues I implore you to use the Method 1 calibration procedure. When i did this my longest batt life was 5 days 6 hrs with 2 hrs of talk time and even a half hour or so of wifi to boot http://teamroyal.net/id63.html

Try resetting gps. This resolved the problem on my two phones. Gonna go back to the latest radio today and see if it works as expected.

I dont use gps. But i just flashed panache stock radio...see how it works out.
I use gps for location services, rarely any routing.

I have 2 phones in our household, both of them chewed thru battery after flashing the new radio. Noticed the bottom of the phone was getting rather hot, i believe the gps chip is in this location...

I have now re-flashed the new radio and reset the gps data (aGPS i believe). i've been running the new radio for about an hour now and have only lost 1-2% instead of like 10-20%. And the phones no longer run hot.

This is the case with both of the phones.

I forget which app is recommended and used by members of the forum most often. I searched the market for 'gps reset' and came up with an app called: GPS Status & Toolbox.

One of its menu options is Tools>Manage A-GPS state> Reset
I just turned off my location, under settings. So now it cant find me :)

Downloaded battery monitor widget, at idle it never got below 180mA, and when i type this its at 350mA. But if i remember my hd2 days i got it to like 3mA at idle...this is the second day with this rom. I loaded less with this rom then cm7.
Screen off it got down to 16mA

I knew I was not crazy, my brother asked me to install the older version of this rom because he wanted the battery life. I flashed it and the signal stays on 3g and when I download or sync or anything like that it will switch to 4g. Told you all I am not crazy. Is there anyway you can put that back into 3.0 please? It is a really nice feature helps a lot with battery life.
