If you recall there was a discrepancy of approximately 50MB's between RG1.2 and CM7 N13 with same apps installed. Now there is only a difference of approximately 15MB's between RG1.3 and CM7 N14. This disaprity is in the internal storage data. Were you able to identify the cause of the disparity?

So far so good. Version 1.3 seem pretty fast and I have not encounter any issues yet other than not having my Genius app, but I can either suck it up and use it or go back to royalglacier. Thank you so much for bringing us such a great ROM.
Why cant you use Trewblue Genius app, Flash that you should be good.

I'm not positive it works with these latest cm based ROMs but there are genius button 'hacks' out there .. look it up in development/themes/and general.

EDIT : thanks 30glock, that's what I was trying to think of..

So wait, in the new instructions we're to use setCPU....everything I keep reading is we're NOT supposed to use setCPU with faux's kernel...why the change now?

Like it says in the instructions many people use the default settings and governor included in the kernel...the note was for people using set CPU to overclock..but it is not necessary....if I'm wrong somebody correct me, after all I am just the graphics guy haha

setCPU *was* what Faux was recommending for his kernels for a while but I've seen very recently where in the latest versions of his kernels and latest CM builds - that the built in CM settings are apparently working again with his kernel ...

i test this and MANY other ROMs all day long with every setup imaginable and i personally get phenomenal / the best battery life and performance using setCPU

(mine is set to smartass gov, 1.1gHz max, 245hz min .. which is basically the default, except after I've autodetected speeds - I enable set on boot)

however, try it out and see what works best for you.

i'm waiting on an 'official' response from faux on this one as it seemed to be made very clear to me that setCPU was the only tuner that properly clocked/set his kernels speeds.

No worries, still trying to understand it. Anyway, I really enjoy TeamRoyal's work on this rom. I do hope that your team starts developing themes for this great theme engine as well.

BTW, nice boot animation!!! ;-)

I was being very overly-harsh/sarcastic to make a humorous point.

Dumbfuq's kernel was and still is awesome. However, last I checked, it hasn't been updated in a long time.

Faux has released like seventy-eleven updates since the last dumbfuq update and Faux's kernels are specifically built and tailored to these ROMs .. every single tweak and adjustment and feature he's built in and made to his kernels are all done seeking the optimal balance of speed/performance AND battery life.

He's got the latest core kernel versions (several versions ahead of the other kernels) for CM7, he's got all the latest/updated drivers from HTC for wifi, video, usb, bluetooth, battery, optical trackpad, camera, sound, AND screen/touchpad. The compiler is optimized for these ROMs and our phones, the file system components are all up to date and newer, the DMA engine is all tweaked and adjusted, the CPU frequency and voltage tables are all updated and optimized, there are additional governors available in Fauxs, he's adjusted the sampling rates and every other aspect of the governors, especially smartass to perform at it's highest potential, he built in a BFQ/IO scheduler, he's built in a SLAB allocator w queue for the speediest kind of memory allocation possible on a linux based system.......

.....shall I keep going?
Gotcha. Well its redownloading my market apps right now. Btw, I dont use setcpu so... is my performance gonna be affected if I use the built in?

We got Tiger building us themes now. Right now he is doing a few stuff for RoyalGlacier first and then we will see about RoyalGinger. In the mean time let me know what kind of Theme you want and I will build you one. Themes I can wip up in like a day or two. thanks. either PM me or say it right here.

Thanks for the rom, Team Royal. It's running so smooth.

Oh and I'd love a team like BlueBuzzer or Cyanbread.

EDIT: Gahhh I wish I could turn on wifi and speed up this app downloading.

So is it ok to run set CPU with faux's kernel?

I only use it to set a profile so the performance is at a minimum when the screen is locked, a setting I could never find how to do in the CM settings.

as stated in the OP set cpu is the only thing you should use atm... that is until told otherwise by someone on the dev team...

Dude, it says no where in the OP that setCPU is the only thing we should use atm. That's why I was asking. Because CM settings was still in 1.2, which in every other thread were said to conflict with setCPU. Now if CM settings is gone in 1.3, then I wouldn't know.

But everyone else has always said they performance settings in CM and setCPU conflict with each other. That's why I asked.
