Hey all I will be posting a 1.1 release which should fix all your issues. But just cause I had a rough day today and kids are sick What I did was,
1. Removed the scripts running at boot
2. Went back to the CM7 Kernel

So because I went back to the CM7 Kernel for you to get the best battery life and the fastest speed, I am going to post a link to either Dumfuqs Smartass Kernel or Faux Smartass Kernel. I would recommend flashing them after you flash the Rom. Tomorrow after I go see my doctors for my MRI I will proper fix and work on RoyalGinger and make it what it should be.

TeamRoyal is also working on an AOSP Froyo Rom for you retro people out there. lol. Sorry again for all the boot issues. This kind of stuff happens when Roms are rushed and not properly tested. Good thing is Now with the MyTouch4G you got a good amount of Awesome Roms to choose from. Thanks for your support.

Royalknight - thanks again man. when you say you're gonna take scripts running at boot out - does that mean it's going to take the boot up time back down but also cut the speed of this thing? don't get too crazy over there de-awesome-izing this blazing fast ROM :D ... can't say I would hate a normal boot up time though (Jaywans Nexus S 2.1 had a super fast boot up time) .. and I can't say I really had any complaints about the speed of the Nexus S 2.1 so as long as it's still at least as fast or faster than that version - I think we'll all be good....then again there's no such thing as too fast, right? ;)

side note:

this ROM is the best ROM hands down currently out there for the Glacier IMHO ... and with it just being v1.0 (well, technically I'd say it's v2.2 based on Jaywans original Nexus S) I know there's likely still room for improvement! Even more so...I feel like with an udpated/revised kernel that's built for this thing - WHOA this thing is gonna be amazing. I remember what Faux123 did for my GorillaSense DHD ROM back on Froyo/Sense with his awesomeness he came up with on those kernels ... this thing with a kernel that has the newest HTC touch drivers, wifi, sound, BT, video drivers ... and battery/performance optimized ?? I'm already drooling just thinking about it.

RoyalGinger 1.1 is posted enjoy the new properly working Rom. Sorry about 1.0 but excellence doesnt come without a few mistakes. lol :D Make sure you read the OP and follow the steps to install.

Flash the Rom (RoyalGinger 1.1) boot into rom when asked to choose a selection choose the first choice. Log into Google Let everything download and install. Once you got the All apps have been restored Reboot into Recovery. Wipe Cache partition go to the advanced menu and wipe dalvik cache then flash one of the Kernels (both work awesome). Reboot into Rom and you should be golden.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Same with me on smartass setting...but why does smartbench make our fones look like a slow pos...haha it must like samsung phones
guys - if you wanna get high 'synthetic' benchmark scores - switch the gov to Interactive or Performance. smartass gov has never given high benchmark scores (it wasn't built to) however I seem to have consistently had the best overall experience with the smartass gov in terms of performance balanced with battery life. when these ROMs (especially this one) are dialed in right, I get ZERO lag on smartass even at stock 1gHz max.

lemme crank this baby up with setCPU and see what kind of scores I can get on Linpack and Quadrant.

but, really, I could give 2 flying flips about what 'magical number' those apps spit at me when my phone screams thru every task I can throw at it. sooooo smooth. mmmm...like Liquid.....nevermind, not gonna go there.

I flashed RoyalLiquid when it first dropped this morning and it stayed on my device for about 90 minutes before I had to flash back to this Nexus S port ... and I was one of the guys staying up all night dying for it to drop...drooling all over the youtube previews, etc.....but in the end, for me at least, it just really felt lacking in terms of depth and polish. there was very little you could do with it in terms of personalization and I got bored with it really fast. now to be fair - that ROM was a v1.0 and again...even though this ROM says v1.0 (because it was 'taken over' by TeamRoyal from Jaywan...who is also one of the main devs on said TeamRoyal) , this thing is an update on the existing Nexus S port, which was already on V2.1 prior to this update. So obviously, I'm guessing the Liquid Metal ROM has a ways it's going to go after some updates are polished into that thing ... but, I still think for me, after being spoiled by gingerbread (PLUS the awesome inclusion of the cm7 settings which go a REALLY long way) running the way it's supposed to on one of the (if not still currently, THE) best and fastest devices out there ... I think it's gonna be hard for anything else to live up to it..

Royalknight - can you check my post #103 above? is v1.1 going to have a performance hit from v1.0?

do you have a recommendation for those of us (namely, ME lol) who's v1.0 are working fine in regards to whether to update to v1.1? aka - are there other under the hood type updates from v1.0 that would make it worth having? or is the ONLY notable change that the boot time has decreased a couple mins (presumably with some speed hit like you first talked about in the Nexus S 2.1 thread)?

obviously I know you made the change to another kernel...but since that's just so other people can flash back over to the kernel I'm running already anyway without issue - this isn't much of a consideration for me right now.

I don't seem to have any issues with video playback ... though the only issue I had with Nexus S 2.1 was with my NHL gamecenter app when watching a live feed of a game .. it would get choppy and laggy .. but that seems to be fixed on this release :D

yayyy
I just tried the NHL app on CM7 Nightly 12 with my new kernel and it's smooth as silk no problem here either.... Ugh... now I am curious about my Sense Kernel... :(

First of ckisgen I want to say thanks for being the goto guy on this Rom and spending a good portion of the day helping people out and trying to fix issues. That rocks in my book.

V1.1 is like you said I removed the Kernel from the Rom cause it looked like it was causing issue for people at initial flash and so you would have to flash the kernel again. I also removed 2 scripts that caused the boot time to be drastically shorter, truly the boot time is like it was with the old Nexus S build. But I took a few extra optimizing steps before I uploaded it to you guys so 1.1 wont see that much of a difference in speed decrease. you probably wont see any decrease in speed. But because I didnt have the proper amount of time to work on it tonight I made the Kernels a 2nd flash so you have that added flash that you have to do. But 1.1 is fast and the boot time is short. If your phone is working were you want it to be I would say leave it and wait till I do something else with this Rom to make it even better. I got big plans for this Rom.

TeamRoyal wants to keep the Dev section alive for the 4G so we will keep deving.

btw - maxed my cpu to 1.8 gHz and switched on the interactive gov and pulled down a 62 on linpack and a 3053 on quadrant.

sorry for the lack of screenies, i still haven't bothered to snag a screenshot app and i didn't feel like getting up and walking across the house to grab my iphone and take a picture with that

i always got higher bench scores with fauxs kernels .. even the cm7 one so I might nandroid a backup on my nearly perfect current RoyalGinger v1.0 with dumbfuqs kernel and go try and flash fauxs cm7 v1.3 kernel and see what kind of benchmark scores I get with that ... (for shi*s and giggles)

Want to say kudos to you and your team. I have flashed practically every nightly of gingerbread since the beginning of the year. Anyway, this rom is smooth as silk. Looking forward to the future of this rom and ?royalhoney?

BTW, wiped cache and dalvik prior to flashing v.1.1.
All is good and wifi is strongest signal its ever been in months.

I'm on app so search isn't my friend.

I'm unable to get into Google voice settings. I chose Google voice as voicemail service and started to do the set up. It got to a point where the program closed. I tried to set up again and it wont open.

If this has been discussed, don't answer and ill search tomorrow. Thanks

It went through the steps (choose if you want to use Google voice for calls, etc). It went to a screen where it said it would configure. I then got a force close message. It then went to the settings screen again. When I try to select voicemail settings in call settings, it wont go back into Google voice setup. Haven't tried rebooting phone yet.
