After some 'monkey buttoning' I was able to get to the screen where it says accessing voicemail settings. Its getting hung up there.
It went through the steps (choose if you want to use Google voice for calls, etc). It went to a screen where it said it would configure. I then got a force close message. It then went to the settings screen again. When I try to select voicemail settings in call settings, it wont go back into Google voice setup. Haven't tried rebooting phone yet.

daryllh, I had that happen to me, I think maybe more than once ... I have flashed so many ROMs and kernels (and themes, and lions, and bears oh my) over the last week or so that I can't remember when it was or which ROM ... I don't think it was this one, lol.

anyway...I THINK I fixed it by going into manage applications and force stopping the Google Voice app and then trying again. I may have done one or all of the following in addition to that: (ha, again everything is kind of blurring together now)

AKA - if the above doesn't work on it's own, I'd recommend trying these one by one:

- restored google voice app (APP only, no data) via titanium (again, I'd probably force stop/close the gv app thru manage applications first)

if that didn't work..

- try fixing permissions either in ROM manager or boot into recovery and wipe both caches, then fix permissions, boot back up and try again.

..the last several new ROM flashes - I've made sure that A) I don't restore the data for google voice thru titanium when I go thru my initial titanium binge of restoring my apps and selected data for said apps .. and B) that I don't go in and manually change the voicemail in the phone settings from the carrier voicemail ... I let the google voice app take care of changing that setting during the initial setup when you open google voice for the first time after a full wipe/new ROM.

ever since I've been doing those two things, I don't THINK I've had this come up again..

TeamRoyal suggests full wipe. However, I updated with just wiping cache and dalvik cache. After initial boot, flashed dumfuq's kernel and all is calm with the world. ;-)

Can someone explain the differences between the 2 Kernels on the OP? I don't know much about kernels so I want to make sure I flash the one that will suit my needs better.

dumfuq's: Stable up to 1.7, excellent battery life, maxes at 1804
faux: Up to 1848, stable at 1804(when I last used it), needs a lot of profiles to get perfect

I'd wait for faux to get to 2.0 since it's a work in progress. I have high hopes for his kernel.

after flashing 1.1

quadrant of [email protected] dumfuq Performance

Great test just shows how fast this rom truly is. Lol. Also from what i am reading is that if you were on 1.0 you can wile cache partook and wipe dalvik cache and then flash 1.1 and it showed be good to go. Just remember after you boot go back into recovery and flash one of the kernels in the OP. That's from other users. I still think a full wipe is better but if it works and saves you time there you go.

Thanks again all.

I was able to just wipe cache and Dalvik. 1.1 is good.

If the app for XDA doesn't show my screenshots from above, my scores after killing background processes:

2917 quadrant
59.03 linpack

same settings as previous test

grrr

why do all my apps start downloading from market? I select that i don't want to back up. even when i do that, the first thing that downloads is a wallpaper...then a bunch of apps that i have purchased start downloading.

last night, i backed out of it and was able to select only the google apps to download. then i went and got titanium backup downloaded, then reinstalled backed up apps.

you'd think there would be a step where it asks 'do you want to install all apps in your market account?'.
