Go into magisk and grant supersu, make sure magisk is the latest canary release.

I ran into 2 errors.
When using my files to view photos on an SD card, my files crashes. It does work with videos though.
I cannot send a voice message over messages (MMS message). Phone says "voice message too short."
ETA: I cannot send voice messages over whatsapp either. I thought it may be cause by a phone setting but I could not find any setting that addresses these 2 voice issues.

Just great. Magnik said it had an update. I followed the "recommended" options now my phone is stuck on the bootlog. I can restart it but it just goes back to the boot logo. WTH!

Magisk is included in the kernel and can't be updated through the app, only by updating the actual kernel.
You could flash the boot image (kernel) from the rom.zip or just flash the rom again without wipe.
If you patched recovery, just flash back the non-patched one.
Reflashing the rom did not work, it stalled.
I had to wipe dalvik cache, cache, and system. TWPR was able to reflash the rom and everything looks the same (same errors as well).

This ROM is very well constructed. Something must be wrong on your side... (Ie install / wipe process)

Can you enable SmartView by default? It is only one line in build.prop.
Right now you need to have another file manager (eg: Root Explorer, Speed Software Ltd), grant permission to mount read/write the system partition (to root), and edit build.prop by adding: wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable. Later on saving the file and restart the phone.

BTW. A new kernel has appeared. Version 1.2. The one that the author added to this ROM.
You need to install any terminal emulator from play store, example Termux. Follow the guidelines to "force BASIC key attestation". Once you do this, Google Pay will be working.
I even downloaded your "Termux" terminal. I use "terminal emulator" and yet there is the same problem.
