This is indeed the best rom I've ever experienced. In combination with zarboz kernel it's a rocket. I don't see any need for updating to viper 2.2

Recent Apps Button

My recent apps button is set to "recent apps" (as opposed to the "menu") but clicking it opens menus of apps instead of the recent apps dialogue. What's strange is that I am able to set the long press to "recent apps" and that works fine. When I try to set the short press to "recent apps" the phone asks for a reboot and when I hit "ok" it returns to the venom tweaks menu without rebooting. Rebooting manually doesn't fix the issue - even though it is set to "recent apps" the button still opens the menu when pressed.

I have searched the forum for this problem and it seems like a few others had the same issue but haven't been able to find a solution. I tried wiping cache but this didn't fix the issue. Weirdly enough, no change in settings that requires reboot doesn't actually reboot the phone when I hit okay, I always have to reboot manually.

Don't let the tweaks app bug you too much. I would clear data on teaks and hub. Start fresh and see if that works for you. For me, everything worked except skins when I would download them.

Thanks. I tried deleting the cache and user data for both apps but the button still opens the menu instead of recent apps, no matter what the setting is set on. Do you have any other ideas or do you recommend I do a full wipe and reinstall the ROM?

Hmm. That's odd. I remember having mine set to short press for menu, long press for recent apps.

You could try a fix permissions. Are the home buttons programmable? It'd just the recent apps button that isn't working?

Yes - weirdly it doesn't matter whether it's set on 'recent apps' or 'menu', it always opens the menu, even though the setting itself is preserved after the phone restarts. What is strange though is that when it asks for a reboot and I hit okay, it doesn't do anything, I have to reboot manually.

If anyone has any other ideas on how to fix this, that would be great, if not, I guess I'll go for a full wipe/reinstall. Sigh.

The ROM keeps adding icons to the home screens after I install them. It's not the setting in the Play Store. What else am I missing?

ok everything is up and running, i just have one small issue, when i try to login to twitter for HTC sense to use friend stream i get to the authenticate screen put my details in (correctly) and click next, i then get "Redirecting you back to the application this may take a few moments" under it it says if your browser doesnt redirect you please click here to continue, nothing happens it stays at this screen even if i click the here button, if i click back it goes back to freind stream but my twitter acount isnt added

ive tried opening settings "apps" then finding friend stream apps and clearing all defaults, then i decided to do a complete format and reinstalled Viper 1.2.1 and its still not having it, Facebook and Flickr for htc sense have logged in correctly.

No, it takes me to the same authorisation page, usually you click authenticate and it goes to this page then redirects as it should but for some reason it's sticking.. heres some screenies
