Because newest one has some problems.

White wolf kernel, is a good one.

U need to install gapps or microg, otherwise most of the apps won't work due to the lack of Google services/microg (fake Google) services.

Ok, thanks a lot, it is working now. The SIM card is recognized and a PIN is required at startup. I think it was the efs or vendor wipe, or the 2 files like you said.

Yes, i know but the main thing because i´m using a custom rom and root is because privacy. So i degoogled the whole phone and use only open source apps usw.

I used the newest version of TWRP (3.4) and everything works, what problems do you had?

I don't see the advantages of a custom kernel, I don't need overclocking, the battery life gets worse

So never do a factory reset (Custom ROM/LOS and TWRP - everything gets deleted) only when flashing a new custom rom. Format Data when i renew the same custom rom. For what is advanced wipe then?

Can I install MicroG later too? Just as a question

I also degoogled my phone, that's why I use microg & also I use other apps that aren't Google ones.
I didn't had any problem with 3.4, but the devs don't recommend the 3.4 due to some bugs.

When u change rom, u can to to advanced wipe and wipe system/dalvik cache/cache/data, u don't need to wipe internal storage, only if it's encrypted.

White wolf kernel isn't overclocked, I have an awesome battery with it, u can underclock and maintain the awesome performance.

And yes, u can install microg. U can install it on magisk, there's a module for it, or nanodroid microg package.

I don't use lineage, just tried to help the guy above. On recent panels? It's on the left of the screen. Swipe all to the left on recents panel.

Sorry, I wanted to know if it is a mistake to install the ROM via I'll keep it directly from the phone. I was having a hard time doing this through the PC terminal. Thanks

Any chance to get signature spoofing work without having a windows computer ? If "yes" - how ?
I enabled signature spoofing on a Linux computer with a patcher script. Worked fine for me. You can find it here: link

You need to install a couple of packages (adb, java...) but everything is described in the post. I did it on a ubuntu system.
I don’t need to do it anymore because the latest NanoDroid patcher does it (when using mciroG, NanoDroid).

How do you do it on a Windows computer? The last time I looked for it I couldn’t find a solution for this.

Hi sexler,
thanks a lot !
I have tried it a couple of times to use the NanoDroid patcher - without success.

I have mounted the /system partition manually before using the patch - same error as shown above.

What am i doing wrong ?

Is your device encrypted?

When TWRP is not able to mount the partitions when you boot into recovery the NanoDroid patcher is not working (AFAIK). You need to install the latest DM-Verity ForceEncrypt file from here: link

My latest setup is as follows:
  • Boot into TWRP
  • Format data (EVERYTHING will be erased! Keep that in mind)
  • wipe Dalvik, cache, System, Data, internal storage (not everything is needed)
  • Reboot into recovery (TWRP)
  • Install ROM
  • Install Magisk
  • Install mircoG
  • Install DM-Verity ForceEncrypt
  • Reboot into system
This works perfectly fine for me.

The device isn't encrypted.
All steps above look the same as my installation routine. Accept the DM-Verity ForceEncrypt patch.
With LineageOs 16, there wasn't any problem with the Nanodroid-Patcher on starlte. Worked like a charme.

Strange.....

Anyone deactivated AGPS/SUPL-Request here by the S9+ LineageOS 17.1 or know how to do this?

normally you can find the config under /etc/system/gps.conf or /vendor/etc/gps.conf and then edit the file gps.conf

But i only have the "debug" one. There is nothing by me, i used the mixplorer (sadly not open source, only for a test) and the simple file manager pro with root access.

@effry

I have seen all these changes and highly appreciate the work of our maintainer. Great job (y).

BTW: I hope that some open issues can be addressed in future updates. As far as my S9 is concerned, I am looking for Galileo/Beidou support, improved Bixby button support and AudioFX which is completely missing ;).

Thanks
Tom

i used to be on lineage os before all these changes but then had to switch to a stock-derived rom exactly because of these little bugs, in particular the inability to set the vibration strenght for notifications (even if the settings is present it's not working). So my question is: is it worth to try again with the latest build or all these chanes are just "under the hood" and the bugs are still the same?
