i download the full gapps maybe thats the problem what do you recommend gapps for me then?
Well, I don't think gapps full will even install, there just isn't enough room on /system.

I use mini, works great, any other gapps you want can be downloaded from the play store.

Has anyone uncovered a solution for the boost mobile devices to restore the cellular network state?
I've tried the suggested apn.r2/dirty flash, and that seems to of restored the carrier to boost, and shows the service state "in Service" for voice and data, the network state remains disconnected.

I even went as far as rolling back to 6.0.1 in hopes of it fixing itself, but that to yielded the same results. grr

After digging through these threads I saw reports of some getting it working, but I'm not understanding what they've done that I didn't.

If you've done an additional dirty flash of ROM only after fully booting up (after initial flash of ROM gapps and boost apn fix r2), and still don't have data... I would try a clean setup again. And of course you are sure you don't have the triband?

yep, I've done all of that. it's worse than no data tho, I've got no network service whatsoever. voice or data. in the sim settings it shows green across the board all the way down the list until you get to network state, which says disconnected. when trying to place a call it says the device cannot be verified, and the ##code does nothing.

This is a friends device, and I've worked on it before, and had issues then also. Only then the voice did work and it was data I had issues with. It was only after I had given up and returned the phone that someone piped up and clued me in about the apn fix. SO I decided to give it another go, and currently I'm wishing I would've just said no.

Now I cant even factory reset because for some reason the oden onclick is erroring out with a md5 checksum error. Panic is starting to set in...

An md5 error likely means a bad download. Try regular Odin (not one click) with ndc. You might want to check the model number on that phone one more time and make sure there's no "t" on the end. Boost sold alot of those bad boys.

Ive Just installed the new 5-12 update. When it first booted the screens were 5 Icons across not4. the middle button in the soft keys was different. You could swipe up from the bottom to get to all apps but my google services was not working. there was some sort of google button at the top. I downloaded the newest gaaps mini and installed it to fix the play services issue and Now Im back to my old layout. (4 across ect). I liked the look of the new one and would like to explore that. How do I go about that?

I also have the boost stuck voicemail Icon/message still. I have the sprint VVM ap working but it shows no voicemails.

Thank You.

Every upgrade you must re-install opengapps. You must also re-install root if required.

The decision was made (before me) that system gets wiped on each octos install.

I was surprised that the layout had changed I thought it was a new feature of OctOs. It looked nice. But then I installed Gapps and it reverted back to my old layout. Ah well.

I do really like OctOs. Its pretty impressive that this old phone can run new software.

Warning: Video conferencing does not work on this, or any Lineage N based ROM on d2. If this is a deal breaker for you, please use an earlier verison. We are working on it, there is no ETA.

Good stuff

Works great on my Galaxy S3 with d2spr. I had to dirty flash again with gapps, not sure if apn fix for boost mobile was necessary, but added it anyway. Had to fiddle a bit but so far so good. Thank you! :good:

hi, @clearchris - first a BIG thanks to all the work that you have done and all those who are helping in keeping the galaxy s3 alive!! i have had mine for over years and it still running strong, not to mention with a current version of android! this is my only phone and i need something stable and just works - this rom goes above and beyond that. i have been running the latest weekly build 06/23 of this rom and everything so far is running pretty good. i have noticed a bluetooth glitch, i think. i have 3 devices paired - my car, bluetooth headset, and bluetooth speakers. the glitch is that the status bar shows the device as connected still even when it is not any longer. so, if i get out of my car the phone shows as still connected in the status bar and in the drop down setting where you tap "more settings" after tapping bluetooth. when i turn off the bluetooth headset it still shows as connected (even shows the battery meter of the headset before disconnecting). everything still connects fine, though, so minor. just thought i would share what i found.

i have the sprint version of the s3.

thanks again!

I have never had a headset that showed the battery level on the phone. What kind of headset are you using and is there an app that shows the battery level or is that part of the OS?

no added app, just what is in the os. i didn't have it on earlier versions of android until i moved up to 7.1.1 and 7.1.2. it is a neat little feature! i was pleasantly surprised to see it. i have the tao tronics bluetooth TT-BH10. i have a friend with the same headset and an iphone and he had the little battery meter, and i thought it was cool. now i have it, too.

Oh, so it's a 7.1.2 feature. I'll check it out. If it's a new feature, there's probably some bugs to be worked out upstream...
