Awesome rom but waiting for stable release

Yesturday try your rom - Love it!
But after 30 min I get "banana" ;)
install google maps & google navigation. Start to use it in a way home and phone starts to get restart in loop...take battery out for few minutes - starts ok.
After thet camera - doesnt work at all.
And after that my calling phone stops to work - i can do phone call...but no sound and no mic. and if somebody calling me - no sound.
Try to reflash - doesnt help.
Need phone for work that's why reflash for older rom.
Any suggestion? really want this rom.
Thanks

If I had a suggestion then I would be a genius and have fixed it, I am not.

Are you using the ROM on an ES120 (Asian GS2 HD)?? If yes, then please don't post in this thread and confuse the Canadian users - the thread is meant for the I757. The ROM works on the ES120 except for phone and camera as you said, but I am not going to help with that.

I know a Bell employee in Toronto who has had this ICS ROM for a couple of weeks and has strung me along, saying he could provide me some files from it (but is afraid for his job/privacy if he dumps it). Well I've emailed him twice the last several days, even left my cell #, saying that I could come over with my laptop and get the required files, but he hasn't responded. I'm even in Toronto on holiday at the moment without a response from him. Really REALLY annoying... I understand that he's concerned about his job, but why lead us on like that???

I've been trying to fit whatever time I can this long weekend (Canada Day, bro-in-law's marriage) to get something to work but have had no luck. I've notified MobileSyrup, Engadget, etc. to at least get some exposure and development interest for this device, but nobody seems to care. If devices like the Rogers GS2 get attention and coverage for CM9, why not our superior device?

If someone here could at least download the sources that would be a help.. I am by no means a hacker or an experienced AOSP/CM developer; I've figured almost everything out so far by Googling. We just need another person here with pretty good Linux experience and above-average knowledge of ADB. Also, C programming and knowledge of Makefiles is not required but an asset.

Thanks for the info, I'll build a new version of CM9 on Tuesday with new files from the Galaxy Note. We'll see if that resolves any of the outstanding issues.

I'll be disabling BLN as it appears to have been broken with the fix for the capacitive buttons not turning on (which is more important than BLN, IMO).

There's something else that I noticed in the Skyrocket/Note sources which has to do with "Enhanced NFC". Not sure what it does but I've added it to ours as well.

I am on my phone right now, but search the thread for my instructions on how to build CM9 for this device.

Kernel does not need to be modified for cam, I already know what hardware it uses for the front and back sensors. The front camera issue is likely in the lib files .. liboemcamera.so, libcamera.so, camera.msm8660.so... Some of those are built off properietary code, which is why the files are in the "vendor" folder in github (i.e. no source code is publicly available, so we have to instead copy the binaries directly from existing ROMs). However, there is a site called Code Aurora where people are working on open-source drivers for these MSM8660-based devices. You may find stuff there.

Keep in mind our front cam sensor is different from the one in every other GS2 variant (who all use the same front camera... weird), which is why we *might* need to build our own drivers or else wait for the Bell ICS update to get the working lib files. I would hold off on that for now and concentrate on the video playback issues instead.

I'm not seeing anything new in the above build. In fact, I have reverted back to the original set of files I had.

I'm uploading a July 3rd build as I type. It has updates for enhanced NFC, GPS utils (?) and Adreno drivers, and disabled BLN because it's broken, and increased the SD card performance in the kernel.

Nothing new for video playback and front camera, however.

What is BLN?

Big SUPER Thanks

I've been installing customer ROMs since my 1st month of having the i9000m from Bell (currently rocking ICS). I am constantly amazed by the work of developers who can put together a working OS while Bell lags behind trying to add their own crapware to an already beautiful device.

This ROM has everything I need for daily use. I had one random reboot when the phone was reinstalling my apps. Other than that, it's great to be back on ICS.

Thank you for your hard work.

Am I the only one who is having issues downloading the latest build from dev-host?

All other downloads off the directory are fine, but the latest build seems to stay at about 20 kbps download, which eventually leads to download timeout :/

As the post says the front camera doesn't work, but I decided to try it out anyways and caused the camera app to crash everytime it opens. :( So long story short don't even try to use the front camera or you'll have to wipe your phone and reinstall the rom again.

There is a way around that, you need to clear the data and something else for the Camera app. I successfully got it restored but can't figure out exactly how anymore.

P.S. Nice to see someone from edmonton.. I grew up there.

Haha you just realized that I'm from edmonton? :p

And also I don't really understand what you mean about the camera app.

If someone wants to help out, here's something we need to crack:

I can't get Gallery thumbnails of video clips to show up. The preview pics are blank. This is the logcat when I go into a folder with two videos (one MP4, other 3GP):
