Does anybody else cannot access 8895 Development Group? It disappeared from my Telegram and now when I try to access it says Chat doesn't exist.
Can anyone help please

Builds for 8895 based devices are almost ready (I posted 8890/s7 builds yesterday) I just have to figure out race condition in ril which causes it to break randomly on reboot, when it comes to general usability everything else is as stable as it was previously and android 12 actually runs faster even on older devies like s7 and s8/n8
Builds should be up this week finally as this is last thing on todo list and i took a day off to figure it out

Hi,

What's the position re: installing Magisk? Do we need to flash a patched Magisk image? or will installing the apk be good enough?

Also, when flashing TWRP 3.6.x, via Odin, will we also need to flash vbmeta.tar file at the same time?

New builds are up here is a brief changelog
- Merged December security update
- Increased zram size
- Fixed internal audio recording in apps such as screen recorders
- removed unused rild service that was causing race condition on rare ocasions
- Synced with LOS source

Sorry for a bit of delay in this one, I spent quite a bit more time on android 12 to get things as stable as possible there so updated for 11 are bit later than usual
But here they finally are, Stay safe and enjoy the holidays

Yes g950F is supported. I used this guide when I first rooted my s8 2 years ago.Link

I was wondering, if the HWC was fixed.

It is still listed as not working in the original post, but during this thread you mentioned that you finished the todo list. However, I never saw it in the change logs. Just wanted to clarify.

Take a note that a lot of LineageOS features have not been completed yet this is not a device bug and please do not report those
in this rom thread as you will be reported to moderator also do not post bug reports for known issues or bug reports without proper
a) Logcat
b) proc/last_kmsg (or proc/kmsg)
c) data/tombstones
d) dmesg

Also do not under any circumstances post bug reports if you are using substratum themes or unsupported magisk modules or you have performed any system modifications


Install gapps right after installing the rom itself dont try to boot to system before that if you want to use gapps
NikGapps and BiTgapps were both tested and working

Due to requests from some users I added signature spoofing support to the rom which allows usage of MicroG
you can simply install MinMicroG and grant it needed permissions for signature spoofing to make it work as intended

Always do clean install whenever you decide to change major android version.

So here are some progress updates, This time about something that was bothering a lot of people.
So lets talk about camera which would stop working after prolonged use.. This issue has been bothering me for over 2 years now but it was one of trickiest issues to deal with as described here https://github.com/8890q/android_device_samsung_universal8890-common/issues/5

Reason why this was so tricky is because camera lib is completely blobbed and there is no source for it so it required some reverse engineering (a lot of it)
first time around we just removed all fd closes from lib which left file descriptors open and once there were too many camera would stop working.. Anyhow since i had a bit more time due to corona i was able to really invest that time into android and look into and finaly i got a solution that is not hacky and resolves issues with camera once and for all (Or as long as google doesnt decide to drastically change something again)

Anyhow camera wont be crashing after ~20 min of use anymore and you wont have to reboot phone to continue using it.

Once again big thanks for all donations that help cover the build server cost and that got me coffee (I really needed coffee to fight with android fdsan weirdness to fix this haha)

New build with camera fix implemented will be out in a few days together with february security update and few other bug fixes, This affects all of 7 and 8 series exynos devices (8890/8895)
