Hi,
i prefer this version for samsung S6 instead of lineageOS 16.
LineageOS 15.1 supports better S6. Excellent work.
Let me disturb you, will you continue to update this custom rom?
Thanks

No I won't continue as I don't have time to contribute to the original developers' work. I'll leave the building to their team. They also have lineageos 15.1 builds at the moment.
There's a lot going on in their telegram group.

rom seems to work fine, just some recurring issues I can never get to be solved.

- call on speaker has echo for person on the other line
- built in mic is quiet
- bluetooth headphones do not work
- headphones/earphones mic does not work
(audio works, mic does not)
- Discord app is unusable even without earphones/headphones when on voice detect mode and not push to talk. common problem with custom roms it seems...
- gps doesn't work

G920F baseband G920FXXU5EQHC
kernel 3.10.61-g83f4992a577-dirty (gcc version 4.9.x 20150123 (prerelease) (GCC) )

can anyone point me to a custom rom that will actually work? :(

I keep having to fall back on lame official roms to get things to work properly for basic functionality...
I'm not even on about VoLTE and all that because we don't even have that stuff.

thanks, I just tried this, but yet again, wired headphones &/ earphones mic does not work, terrible echo from call on speaker... anything I can do?

the headphones and earphones are not broken & this stuff works on android 7.0/stock roms so it can't be my hardware

edit: Is it my kernel? I don't know anything about kernels but afaik they are responsible for the drivers/hardware-software layer interactions right?
am I meant to flash another kernel when installing this? is the required kernel included?

& before you ask, I always do a clean install, complete factory wipe, wiped dalvik cache, no custom kernel - don't even have xposed installed before these problems show up.. hell I don't think I even have magisk on it right now. do I need that already for these things to work?

do I have a special snowflake phone? I don't understand - are these issues not a thing on everyone else's G920F , because these issues show up release after release of LineageOS and other similar roms - I have similar problems on ResurrectionRemix and all the other famous roms...

the ONLY roms I do not have problems with are roms that go as far as the official supported release -- Android 7.0
so LightROM is the best thing I could find where everything worked, except that the theme is piss ugly and idk how to put pixel theme on other than substratum which I can't even seem to install

Sorry if I'm a bit of a noob at this but it's frustrating

It looks like you are running an older baseband (modem) firmware so you could try updating that (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s6/firmware/SM-G920F/). I have been building Lineage 15.1 for S6 & S6 Edge for a while now and I have never had issues with wired headsets. Are you really sure its not hardware? I thought I had a similar issue that I blamed on the ROM, however it turned out to be fluff in the 3.5mm socket.

thanks for the response ADB100 - I didn't know baseband/firmware is one of those things that's not included when you install a new rom, that could indeed be the problem, I don't remember if I've ever updated it

It's 100% definitely not hardware - as soon as I flash back to android 7.0, all of my problems disappear

I'll try updating the baseband when I get home this evening and flashing lineageos again. thanks

coincidentally just saw a post of yours on this other thread lol http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/baseband-firmware-t3863200

any suggestions where I should get the latest baseband?

The latest modem firmware is in the Portuguese firmware on Samfirm. Follow the instructions in that post but select 'TCL' as the region. I did this a few weeks ago for my S6 and S6 Edge to update the baseband (modem) firmware to the latest.

was talking to my gf with my headphones plugged in on android 7 over the past couple of days, no issues
flash this new rom and again, headphone/earphone mic does not work, latest baseband...

really losing hope here...

- mic does not work with headphones or earphones plugged in
- having a person on speaker and using the phone's mic presents ear-raping feedback to the person on the other end
- gps probably doesn't work, I haven't checked but it never works when I'm having the headphone issue as well on these new android versions...

I am running my own build of Lineage 15.1 using the sources on the official LineageOS GitHub repos as well as the vendor files from TheMuppets. It was built on 16th September. I have just tested with a Beats branded wired in-ear headset (came with a HTC phone I think?) and the MIC and Speakers work perfectly (GPS also works as I use this as my satnav in the car and when walking around after getting lost in London...). You are welcome to try my ROM to see if this works, however I doubt it will based on what you have tried so far...
I can only think you have some unique phone or a unique headset that the official ROM see's differently... Have you tried a different wired headset?

Edit: Your headset has a microphone right?

Hi Andy,

I wouldn't mind to try your ROM but I'm pretty much losing hope, I don't know if I'm really going to try again.
I've tried with the standard samsung earphones that are included with the phone (they have a mic afaik) and with JBL E55BT headphones that also have a mic, both wired

again, I never have these issues on android 7 roms

thanks for the reply

Great

My phone (G920F) has been crashing and restarting by itself for a while now but after installing this, it's finally back to normal again.
I had an issue with the music app though as it kept stopping but I disabled it and now there's no problems at all.
Thanks a lot. :)

I hope this is okay.

I'd like to make a request for a future version, which I would use myself.
Don't know if something like this already exist though.

Option to expand status bar to multiple lines (maybe just 2) and move notifications down to on it's own line.
Would make room for more information in the top line, and more notifications for those busy people out there. :)
