HELP & FAQ

HELP & FAQ

WHY FLASH OFFICIAL FIRMWARE FIRST

  1. Contains latest bootloader, modem , kernel etc needed as base for this NL1 ROM
  2. [Q] If I have official NK5 firmware already installed, do I need to re-flash it again with Odin?
    [A] No

LANGUAGE

  1. [Q] Why is Korean language still in the ROM after debloat?
[A] It's deeply entwined into the framework and requires a lot of smali editing of which I don't want to waste my time attempting.
  2. [Q] Can I add more system languages?
[A] No, would require system and app decompile and translating .xml etc.

KERNEL

  1. [Q] Why isn't the SkyHigh custom kernel included in the ROM zip?
[A] The kernel is going through a development stage. Updates can be found in my SkyHigh kernel thread

BUGS

[Q] Some Android icons are visible after "No Wipe install"
[A] You will need to "FULL wipe" install and setup - please let me know if there is an easier way !

[Q] Weather widget force close & no notification on edge panel
[A] Aroma installer specifically states that changing CSC from KOR will do this ! If you wish to use the widget, re-flash ROM with KOR CSC.

Just flashed, good job. Going to see if this helps with my appalling battery life. Had it two weeks and been charging every day no matter the use.

Gotcha I'm deciding between the S and the K right now and leaning towards the S since you have a ROM out and everything :)
is there any differences between the S and the K?
As i don't have the K i can't comment on the ROM, but bound to have similar carrier bloatware and embedded into framework same as S.

Kernel is same source code, and maybe same boot.img. Can't confirm unless i diff between the two ramdisk.

Edit. There could also be a different partition layout, but I'm not sure

Performance should be same between the two, although the S is already had one firmware update.

For further info, please post in Q&A as its actually nothing to do with this particular project. ;)

Just ordered the S since my parents use SKT in Korea anyways. Will be looking forward to try out your ROM and kernel in the future!

Probably not a rom issue but maybe someone here has an idea. I can't get fingerprint login working right with Paypal. It says fingerprint registered and everything looks right, but when it comes to login it resorts to password/pin. Could it be a consequence of stripping knox?

Easy to confirm. Reflash ROM full wipe with KNOX enabled with all bloatware install. Test.

Then, compare against fully official stock non-root and root ROM.

I'll try that on my next rom flash. Going to keep things as they are for a bit as its quite a pain restoring everything, only seem to be able to batch backup with titanium, and batch restore flashes back all the crap as well so have to do it individually.
