SPen, Review and some Recommendations
is there a way to mount the s-pen functions ??
Hi,
well there is. It's a payed APP but it's totally worth it. I've been using the ROM for about a week, and can only say I find it amazing. As a small summary of my experience with it:
CONs:
- Flashing v.5.8.5 is not good. Magnetic lock is not working. So if you have a case it'll affect hugely the usability. Lucklily you can download v.5.8.4 and flash it over with absolutely no loss.
- The installed version of Magisk is not the last one. For some reason I couldn't update it directly via the App, so donwload it and flash it manually. Both Magisk and Magisk Manager.
- For the SPen functionality you will need SPen command. It costs, but it's worth it. Download the last version, beta, from:
www.spencommand.com
- In order to be able to run it adequatly and install it, at least the first time, you have to change SELinux to permissive. For this, download a command runner and type:
su
setenforce 0
- In my device I had to check the rotation settings and everithing in SPen Command so everything will work well. Takes a little time.
- I didn't bother about the low YouTube volume until I started driving and Driving directions were also very low. I'd like to know how to fix it or tweak it a little beat. I read that a Magisk script could do the trick.
- This last point is personal taste, but I recommend installing Nova Launcher and Setting it so that it looks like Pixel launcher, which looks nice, but has limited functionality in customizing Folders and layout.
- I wasn't have LTE right after installing the ROM, somehow you have to go to settings and configure something in there with the carrier manually, found it in a YouTube video of an Indian guy.
Pros:
- Android N!
- Root
- Faster
- Very customizable, it's a steep learning curve though. I'm still struggling with the MultiWindow mode and the OmniSwitch App. Also I don't get very well what and how Magisk works.
- Nice Icons
- Your phone Storage and RAM will be grateful of the ROM. You can tell the difference from TouchWiz that have tons of things no one knows what they do and load your system unnecessarily.
Well I'm not a Programmer, but kind of an Android fan. And deeper than this Post I won't be able to go. I thank the developer of the Remix ROM for the nice work. Keep it up dude.
