Alright. Anybody tested Oreo as well as Nougat? Which is better for daily driver? I'm quite pissed off of Samsung software LL 5.1.1. Need stability, speed and possibly updates without full cleaning the tablet all the time after flashig Oreo or Nougat.

Since the developer himself says it's in alpha and this ROM hasn't been updated since January 2018, which is months before LineageOS 15.1 itself became stable, I doubt it's in a state to be used as daily driver. You're probably better off getting the official 14.1 from here if it is stability you're after.

Hi,
RR 7.1.2 is running without problem, this is what I am using at the moment !:good:
Lineage 15.1 still in development so ..... you can expect some glitches !!
Yes flash ROM and Gapps and you are done !
If you from Lineage to RR don't forget a full wipe !

Hi, as you may have noticed, there wasn't any new build since january.

And the reason for that is that i can't get one big thing working: the camera
In the last build I only get i working with this very dirty workaround/hack: https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/LineageOS/android_frameworks_av/+/188388/
But that is not a proper solution (recording will not working) and it does not even build with latest changes.

Unfortunately I don't find anything useful in logcat (https://pastebin.com/uK1bip1J), just the usual spam that you would find also with a working camera like on 14.1 and timeout messages (so just the effect not the cause).

I also checked our device configs with Note 3 one's on camera relevant parts (on Note 3 the camera is working), it's simply the same and like it should.

For now I don't know, what to do about it,I have no idea how to fix this.

I don' t think there will anymore update for RR 7.1 but as long as it works OK do we really need updates ? :confused:
You are right and for my daily use no more updates are needed to be honest. But if somewlse reads this thread I thought it could be useful to give a heads-up regarding lack of updates from RR (if I understand the situation correctly)

Well, I don't know about you but for me the camera is really not that important for a device like the Note 10.1. For me the device is more suited to reading comics, etc. Everything else is just fluff.

First of all: Thanks for your great job you made with the 7.* ROM!

For me also: Camera is nice to have but not as important as an up to date OS.

Has the support of this ROM ended? If yes, can someone recommend me stable up-to-date ROM for P605 with working S-pen? It is not necessary that it have to be Samsung's OS or ported one. Working S-pen etc. would be enough.

    This is only for SM-P605 (lt03lte)! Even loading an custom recovery will irreversible trigger Knox to 0x1!

    What if i gave an Oreo ... to our Note 10.1 2014 LTE.

    LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (Oreo) (yeah, it's Oreo, but it isn't in Project OS Version list yet), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
     *
     */

    LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (GApps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS GitHub repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit Gerrit Code Review.

    This is an early build for testing. It's not intended as daily driver. Man things are broken and many bugs can occur.

    How to flash:
    -Be sure you are on 5.1.1 Bootloader and Modem (Flash 5.1.1 firmware via Odin) !
    -Flash TWRP (version 3.0.0-0 or newer recommended)
    -Make Nandroid backup (optional)
    -Wipe > Advanced Wipe > select data, system, ART/Dalvik Cache, Cache, Internal Storage > Swipe
    -Install > select Lineage15.1 Zip > Swipe
    -Reboot

    Please read full OP before posting or flashing anything. Please don't report any bugs, if you use Xposed, any mod or modified the system.

    After a long time finally a new build of Oreo.

    The following changes are the most relevant for you:
    - fixed RIL
    - fixed FC on startup

    But many things happend under the hood with implementing proper/cleaner (like enabling binderized gralloc service or moving blobs to /vendor).

    Against the previous build the camera is not working unfortunately.

    Please test GPS.
