Hi David!
I've been testing heavily for the last 3 days and the OS is running very smooth. The fixed LTE permissions helped with internet access

The tablet is as fast as my 2 year old phone, maybe even faster. And I can finally use my passwort manager with android autofill functionality. S-pen works with LectureNotes and Squid. In two days I got the same amount of screen freezes.
Some apps seem to have trouble to invoke permission to access storage, they tell you to manually allow storage access and open the corresponding setting page. But there is no entry for storage access (for example com.ea.gp.fifamobile). Or they don't ask and can't write to sdcard. I think the error is in the apps itself. All "proper programmed" apps work, at least when storage access independent of manifest is set in the development section in settings. No reason to fix this, but the reason I tried the following to get XInternalSD working:
Something related to Magisk and the EdXposed Framework (not for you to fix):
After root with magisk and riru core module installation everything works fine.
After installation of EdXposed Module (YAHFA or Sandhook, only alpha versions 0.4.2.3 at the moment possible) Android Webview is not working any more. I got back part of the functionality by installing the newest Google Android Webview. For me, I wait for updates to the EdXposed Framework.
So:
Apart from missing camera and hotspot functionality I consider the tablet to be fit as a daily driver. Thanks for keeping the tablet alive:good:

For those who need EdXposed Framework here are more details:
After installation of Google Android Webview (75.0.3770.67, older versions 72 - 74 didn't work) the following apps are working:
fdroid, yalp, octodroid
with nova launcher I had to open nova settings and change the tab view to classic and back to material to make the top right menu in the app drawer readable.
To be able to use the recent app list I had to wipe davlik / cache in recovery.
Still not working (most annoying and the reason I abandoned EdXposed for the moment):
FOSS Browser (even newest version 6.4)
via browser (this app even says something is wrong with Android webview)
Google chrome has no problems
