@ketut.kumajaya

Could the backlight button behavior be fixed (more in line with Stock) using the Note 8.0 KitKat files or is that something device specific?

If/when Tab 3 8.0 gets official KitKat could the issue above then be fixed in custom ROMs?

Thanks :good:

As I said earlier the Rom is working k, the only issues I found are:
Waking up the tab(animation) takes longer than I think it's normal and lately Swype keyboard takes longer to show, but this I think be a Swype related problem...I'm having it on a s4...ram is also rapidly consumed

Good battery life though

It's AOSP behavior issue, touchscreen event trigger both LCD backlight and button light :( I have to learn how this stuff works :)

All, please confirm the latest build:
- Less screen flicker?
- Both still image and video on both camera works? For better quality video, switch the video codec to MPEG-4, it's normal short initial frame get corrupted :(

EDIT: @gr8nole Congratulations for your RC title :good:

I have no idea, no hardware for testing.

@gr8nole, @Android-Andi, and else
Please sync your source and rebuild CM, Omni, Slim, or else for us. I'll start debugging audio in call noise this weekend. Thank you :good:

Changelog:
  • vendor/samsung: Update camera and GPU driver, taken from Note 8 KitKat
  • framework/av: Update required symbols to load KitKat's camera driver, Samsung Qualcomm's hardware conflict fixed
  • device/samsung/lt01-common: Disable legacy driver compatibility (KitKat's camera driver no need it), limit encoder profile to maximum 720p (hardware limitation)
  • device/samsung/lt01*: Update in sync to common changes
Seen late.... :( sorry.... Will do sunday late night or monday after rebuilding philz touch

Just tried out the 29/05 build, was mainly just checking out the Camera (Rear), not sure if the changes posted few days ago were directed at the video side of things but it's working pretty well in this build from what I've tested so far, though I find when playing back videos using the stock Gallery app, they playback very choppy, but using something like VPlayer they appear to playback as you'd expect, minimal lag, no artifacts on screen etc.

Tested both stock Camera & Google Camera (Play Store), no issues with 720p video recording, both performed equal in regards to video, now switching to 480p results in visual artifacts/lines across half the screen, viewfinder images stick & jump continuously until you close the app, pretty unusable on that setting, same results on both Camera apps, anyway I'm not sure why anyone would use 480p over 720p but I still tested it, probably better to remove that option (480p video) altogether if possible unless it can be fixed that is.

As previously reported already, front facing Camera FC's after about 1 second if try to video record, tested with both stock Camera & Google Camera, same results, taking pictures is fine on both.

It's strange, front camera video recording working on my own build. Let me check my local source, the possible cause MIUI adaptation changes fix front camera issue by accident :laugh:

Did you try MPEG-4 codec? About 480p preview artifacts, I'll check my wrapper. Yes, even KitKat camera HAL still need a wrapper to prevent kernel panics when switching from front to back camera.

Without too much interest, I still continue this project for my self and @gr8nole :laugh:

How do you change the codec? I was just testing out the available recording options in the Camera which were 720p & 480p, also tried out all still image qualities; 5M, 3M, VGA etc. all OK.

I hope it still continues, very stable ROM for daily usage (speaking for T310 builds as that's the only one I can test), apart from button backlights behavior (can be disabled) and the few camera issues there's not really many bugs present that I've seen, (going off other feedback I think with T311 the call quality is low?), but all in all it's great.

Anyway big thanks to all :good:

Tried both camera's with MPEG4, rear/back camera works well & plays back fine in Gallery (starts off with artifacts but clears after about 1-2 seconds), front one records now but play back is kind of garbled with artifacts, sound is OK on both.

Thank You for your hard work and effort to fix bugs

I downloaded it flashed it but... there is still noise but this time the caller gets the robotic sound, too.

I wonder if it is my phone...

using 4.2.2 there is no problem though

anyway thank you Sir.

It is a known bug that needs to be fixed. No fix for it atm.
