Did you have any luck with the Home button not waking the device? I asked a friend of mine, one of the AEX maintainers, to take a look and she said a fix is possible albeit difficult lol. I think (hope) she poked you :fingers-crossed: :cool:

Edit: Dirty flashed over previous version, all good. But yea, Home button not working yet and Volume buttons only wake the device within a few seconds of turning off the screen. Eventually those will work too :confident look: :D

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. No I haven't been able to get the home button wake to work. I wonder if this is a feature problem with AEX. I haven't had anyone contact me yet. The good news is that I was able to get the wake with volume rocker to work. I will post a new build soon.

Thanks for getting the volume rocker to work - that's a start :D

I *think* she might've poked @followmsi instead since he fixed the Home button wake on your AICP?

I'll nudge her again - all I know is that it must be AOSP related since LOS based roms don't have that problem. She did mention "android_hardware_interfaces" since all manifests have everything BUT that in common.

I'll get back to you if I find out more - thanks for trying :) :good:

I spoke too soon. The wake on volume rocker is still having the same issues. I could have sworn that they were working fine last night, but I might have been because I had my tablet plugged into my computer. Any way this is the only rom that has the issue. All the other roms are Lineage based except for BootLeggers rom and it works on that without any patches. I asked @followmsi for the patches he used on AICP to get the wake on home button to work. When I applied them to this rom they had no effect. I am currently at a loss of what to do. Although I am very happy I was able to get this rom built for this device. I find myself torn and switching back and forth between this rom and BootLeggers rom.

Well I like BTL too but I prefer AEX simply because it has a lot more ram available. I have about 600 MB free on AEX but only around 300 on BTL. RR is right in the middle somewhere :laugh:

It's weird that the AICP fix did nothing here ... but I'm no dev or anything so most of that stuff is miles over my head :angel:

Oh well ... even without those buttons waking the device I'm still happy with AEX and I hope you'll continue building it ? :fingers-crossed: :cool:

Hi sorry I'm the friend I've been working on the home button on the side I think I have solution if I get it to build I will contact you with the stuff required to build yourself and test

Say for the life of me I can't find the setting to turn the temperature unit in the at a glance weather widget from Celsius to Fahrenheit. :eek:

Every time I test another rom I miss AEX ... while it doesn't have the wake-on-home (yet) it has other strong points.

The rom I'm testing now for example has no smartbar, so I can't put the screenshot function on a navbar button. Also 1 homescreen widget that won't load after a reboot - I have to start the app it belongs to and THEN it loads.

So yea, while it would be great to have the home button working AEX has other things that always make me come back to it :cool: :)

I have been trying to figure this out and I can't find the setting for it. It's like it's missing. But yes there is a way. Disable At A Glance in the home screen settings and then add it from the Google widget. The only thing is that the lock screen will still show C. When I have time I will see if I can fix it.

That works but I hope you get the "At A Glance" fixed. I liked its simplicity. The weather widgets are all a bit cluttered. (I'm an old guy from the "text only" computer days. IMHO, if devs spent more time on information and less on "making things pretty", our computing devices would be a whole lot faster and a lot less vulnerable.)

You can use the Google At A glance widget. It's the first one under Google in the widgets. It's exactly the same but it's Google's version and not AEX's version.

    -Base Of the ROM & Version?
    ->Rom is based on AOSP. Verison is updated monthly.

    -Why no "Incremental/Delta updates" Support?
    ->Actually the updates we provide monthly are heavily changed and modified than the previous builds. New stuff is merged and added. So we don't provide incremental updates and recommend a clean flash.

    -Does this ROM Support Substratum?
    ->Google killed Substratum support in Pie. You can use it, however, you need to be rooted. We don't support rootless Substratum.

    -Which Gapps are recommended?
    ->OpenGapps

    -How do I root this ROM?
    ->We recommend Magisk

    -Will this ROM relock the bootloader?
    ->No.

    -What about XPOSED?
    ->XPOSED is still in beta stage. We like Xposed but it messes up with the system so before giving any bug reports make sure you have Xposed uninstalled.

    -When Will Be the Next Update?
    ->No ETAs, please. ROM Will be updated whenever the new build is ready by your maintainer. We generally provide monthly updates with latest security patches and new features.

    The power button is so tiny and I always have the tablet sitting on my left side on the desk, so the Home button is much easier to reach + press. Oh well, for a 1st release it's still great and I like that it uses less ram ... I'll stay with it for a while (sorry Bada :angel: )

    It doesn't matter to me which rom people use. I do this for fun and learning. I really like @BADA 187's rom too. I'm sure I'll get this figured out.
