Thank you for the idea!

How long can you use your tablet with a different launcher before it freezes?

Were you able to install Netflix?
I don't know, I've installed the official firmware Samsung because the microphone didn't work ...
and I didn't try to install Netflix

Dead?

So is this attempt basically a no-go for now? I just got one of these because of the screen aspect ratio being 4:3 and AMOLED. Was hoping to put Lineage on it like I have working wonderfully on my Tab S2 (also 4:3 and beautiful AMOLED display). Not everyone watches movies on tablets and the 16:9 is just cumbersome and pointless for non-movie browsing.

For those who haven't purchased and are considering, the screen is GREAT and beautiful on these. Wonderful sound. But stock firmware is SLOW. It's fine to browse FB and send messages.

Just my two cents worth FYI. :)

Can someone who uses the pen, explain in detail on the palm rejection issue? Say you were drawing a straight line, then your skin touches the screen, what happens then? Is the line disrupted/ink stops flowing out?
Also, assuming you manage to not touch the screen while using the pen, does it otherwise work fine? Pen pressure, pen button, cursor etc
Someone earlier in the thread said they're fine with all the issues since they're just using it as a book reader device; my usage is nearly similar too but I use the pen actively. If the pen works fine aside from the skin rejection issue, I might try to write from the shoulders lol.

None of that will work.
I don't use the pen either but the horrible battery-life and only half of the speakers working made me switch back to the tweaked stock rom, which actually runs pretty well once you remove all the Samsung crap.

It takes a lot of time to boot for the first time, is it normal?

Surely it's booting for at least 30minutes. Does it take 1 hour? My other modded devices with Los take so much less. Maybe it is the device, not the rom.
The device is really hot and the Los logo began to lag.

Hmm, that looks like you had a big bootloop...
I didn't find anything on forums and YouTube, but I guess you should press volume up, down, home button and power button simultaneously until it reboots.
And after it reboots, try very fast and press volume up, home button and power to enter to TWRP and flash the ROM again.
My advice is that instead you flash OpenGapps, which are full of bugs on the Android 10 version, flash NikGapps.
If you enter again to a bootloop, go to TWRP and wipe Dalvik/Cache.

Hi ! Will this rom be updated someday ? It's almost three months since you uploaded the February version....
You are not forced to do it, it's not in your obligation, but there are people like me who are frustrated with this complicated tablet, and want a recent ROM which works entirely (and not only to read ebooks).
Is it possible to solve the speaker problem and the palm rejection ? Also, it would be great if you include April or May security patches.
And maybe a newer Kernel ? Please, all your ROMs are great, and I think it's not fair that while your midrange tablets like the A series got the newest version of LOS 17.1 with Kernel 5.0 and up, this beautiful and expensive top tablet that is the Tab S3 is being abandoned.
Samsung abandoned it, I agree even if it's not fair, but please keep on supporting the Tab S3.
Thank you, Valera.

does the 4 speaker now works?
It seems like not.
I advise you to "trebelice" your Tab S3 if you really want a good ROM instead of this, at least with GSIs almost all seems to work.
Anyway this LineageOS will never be updated, because suddenly Valera abandoned the Tab S3 on the profit of the Tab A series, so don't expect a lot about this guy...
It's better a good GSI that at least will be updated, than an outdated and unofficial thing that is this ****ty ROM.

"Trebelice" is a way to say that you make this device compatible with Treble, since by default it's not compatible, and with this you can put any ROM that is compatible with Treble GSIs.
Try with this and read it carefully (only the firmware and TWRP for your version) : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s3/development/project-treble-based-android-9-0-t3918235
The ROM that I think will work is Havoc OS 3.4 Official GSI, here : https://sourceforge.net/projects/havoc-os/files/arm64-aonly/
Be carefully and select only "ARM64 A-only" otherwise it won't work.
In this link, there are two versions, the version without gapps and the version with gapps ; if you want something that fully works, I recommend you to select the gapps version.
I hope that it will work for you, and please tell me your experience after flashing it.

I flashed the custom TWRP using odin and using stock Oreo. I have followed the instructions and got an error installing the treble-16.0.zip.

Skipping Digest check: no Digest file found
Target: ...
Patching vendor image unconditionally...
E2001: Failed to update vendor image
Updater process ended with ERROR:7

Then I get a bootloop after installing Havoc image and reboot to system. Did I do something wrong?

Hi.
If you don't know how to Treble, please read the other post I posted.
For GSI, I highly recommend Offical HavocOS 3.4, with gapps.
Here's the link : https://sourceforge.net/projects/havoc-os/files/arm64-aonly/
If you want that I will fill work at 99%, flash with the gapps prebuilt option.
Please tell me if this works and if Netflix works at Full HD, because that's why I still didn't put any ROM on mine.

Yes : the link I posted was if you had the PIE firmware and bootloader on your Tab S3, so obviously it didn't work for you...
Instead of panicking, flash with Odin the latest version of your firmware you can find on Sammobile (logically this time Pie) and retry.
I'm so sorry I didn't specify if it works with the Oreo or Pie bootloader, I thought all people had Pie. I'm a big dumbass .
Please tell me if this time it works, I also want to test it on my Tab S3 (T825).

Did you installed the Treble TWRP ? Otherwise none of any GSI will work.
