I'm using this rom atm, everything works great on it but, i've been trying to figure out a way to add adoptable storage and have failed every time. Is this something that you can add? I've tried both methods:
I've tried patching with these, then formatting the dating, etc. This didn't work.
vRiea6C

Then i tried using adb to format the card to trick the system and this didn't work. Everytime i execute the sm cmds in the shell it gets killed, even as root.

SM-T820 TWEAKED 5.1 ***** PIE ***** 20JUN2020
T820_CTD5_TWEAKED_5.1_DB4_by_rorymc928.zip

Based on latest stock CTD5 firmware
Tweaked, stable, zip aligned. SU/D
Forced encryption disabled
Deknoxed
Debloated
(GPU driver updated to latest adreno 313 rev 23.... returning soon)
Busybox
*****
Magisk updated 20.4
Matched edxposed version can be installed, or not, if preferred via magisk
(note that edxposed is the new framework replacing xposed to allow use with pie, it requires a number of steps, but fairly simple, guide to follow )
Edxposed installer
Gravity box PIE pre installed

Can be dirty flashed over Tweaked 5.0 (recommended) , or factory reset all will work.
bootloader update, only required if coming from a ROM or firmware prior to either PIE or Tweaked 5. 0
(it will work without, but experience shows the bootloader update is required for the fingerprint reader to function )

For edxposed......
Xposed does not support android pie.
However, we now have edxposed, a magisk module which does basically the same thing.
Requirements are,
1. Riru core. Go to magisk downloads and type in the search bar "riru" , near the top you'll see riru core, click the download and it will install and offer a reboot.
2. Riru edxposed. Same search and you'll see riru edxposed further down 2 versions I chose sandhook, no reason but it works for me, same thing download it, it installs and offers reboot.
3. Edxposed installer , almost identical to the xposed installer, already installed in the Rom, open it and you should find gravitybox pie version in the modules section it may require switching on.

Advantage of edxposed is it passes safety net,..... I'm told.

Gravity box pie is still in early development, so whilst it has quite a bit there it's still a way off being complete, some selections didn't function for me, but a lot did.

Gravity box will still need to be switched on in edxposed modules.

More mods to follow...

Let me know how it goes

Could anyone tell me if there is a TWRP for my Galaxy Tab S3? I have Android 9 installed. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated!

Can use a SD Card inside the tablet after flashing this?

Can someone please post a easy step by step Guide when coming from the normal stock ROM?

SD card works.
First is to get twrp recovery installed, have a read of the thread here....
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...recovery-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-t3581359
Be careful to follow the process methodically, its easy to make small errors and wind up starting again.
Once you have that, just flash the rom from here, it takes care of the rooting process.
Let us know how you get on

All worked fine! Thank you. Was more easy as expected :D But i´m a bit confused: the ROM should be "debloated"...so I think it comes without all the Samsung crap like Galaxy Store and the other bullshit. But it is still there.

- Is there a way to uninstall all the Samsung stuff i don´t need?
- The xposed manager and Gravity box wont work but i have really no idea for what this is necessary

But i have to say: the system is much faster and smoother. Works great!

It is heavily debloated, its just that you can't remove everything, some apps are essential, some are useful for most but not for some, so a compromise has to be reached.
The best way I've found to selectively remove them is to use titanium backup. It'll delete the apps but it also allows you to freeze anything your not sure about, then if you decide its not an issue later you can go on to remove it ,you can then also restore any backup you keep of the app also.

Rather than xposed magisk now uses edxposed, the op. lists the actions to get it working. When they're installed correctly make sure the switch selections are set on for the different modules in both magisk and edxposed .
They're not necessary, they just provide a range of mods for , performance and appearance,so it's just a choice if you use them or not.
Glad the rest worked out for you

Hola !

Hi
I just got an S3 (SM-T820) on sale; it is currently post AQI2 (BRE2) - does it mean I need to downgrade to AQI2 to be able to flash this rom?
Also do I need to update the bootloader (to the latest?) - sorry this is not clear from what I could read?
The tablet is completely untouched at this stage (no twrp yet; this is my next move) and I blocked the firmware automatic updates
Thanks

You need to do the opposite. You have to UPDATE the tablet to the latest stock ROM possible to use the latest version of the custom ROM.

    Hit thanks if I helped

    Hello BenG7,

I am pleased that the devices can still be bought. I hope you got a good offer.
You don't need to downgrade if you want to use this rom:

    - Set up Android as everybody normal would, so that you can reach the developer options to activate the OEM unlocking
(Just click on the android build number a dozen times in the settings, you know the drill)

    - It is good if you also briefly set up the Internet so that the tablet can check the time (no joke, because reasons)
If your device/android wants to update now, that's okay, the tablet is probably still on android 8.

    - then you need Odin
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/patched-odin-3-13-1.3762572/
    to install TWRP
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...1-samsung-galaxy-tab-s3-sm-t820-t825.3581359/
USE THE AP SLOT in Odin to install TWRP, BUT READ the instructions, with the installation you have to get rid of the Samsung encryption somehow, this is explained there! to disable dmverity, forced encryption and mount internal storage(DATA)

    - in the TWRP you can install this ROM very easy. I find the installation the most convenient with the help of an SD card.

(- If, like me, you experiment with Magisk modules or EdXposed, it can happen that you no longer get to the TWRP because Samsung recognizes that someone has been playing around AND you can't just reinstall TWRP because it's unsigned ... Don't Panic! Just use https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-checker.3910594/ to download the latest original Samsung Firmware and use Odin to install. Then the tablet is freshly unpacked and everything can start again at 0. Don't forget, the annoying encryption is back. And you should go briefly on the Internet so that the developer options are not affected by Samsung's security system. Otherwise the OEM lock cannot be switched, because Samsung ;-)

Have fun with your new tablet, best regards
    Christian

I did as you said and I am currently running the latest tweaked rom althought I flashed the latest official bootloader from SamMobile before flashing the rom (as mentioned in the 1st post - one discreet line)
+ with the addition of Titanium removed even more bloatware from Samsung that I will not use (i normally use lineageos on my devices if available + nogapps at all +even further degoogle my phone ( https://www.reddit.com/r/fossdroid/comments/clg2ca ) to keep it as lean as possible (just the apps I need - no extra BS)

what are the chances of an update to this? or maybe instructions to get fingerprint scanner working? would be mucho appreiciated, would probably be a final release as well?

when I used to have this tab [before I bricked it] I had everything working
and that includes the fingerprint sensor. I remember rory uploading a build that had fingerprint not working, but it was fixed in the latest build. So, I have no idea

Yes, NullCode is correct an issue cropped up with the fingerprint sensor earlier, due to an error on my part , but that was resolved with the latest / subsequent builds to that, so best option is to check you have the latest build and re flash. For simplicity try flashing the latest straight over first, if not a wipe may be required. There will be reference to the issue in the thread earlier, not sure how easy it is to search within a thread with the new forum. Post back how you get on.

I am coming from older version of this ROM (3.4), but can not get the new version to work. The tablet keeps rebooting. I have no idea why this is. Recovering to old version and all works fine. Does it have to do with boot loader maybe? (not twrp, in this case?) Because there is a file called BL_T820XXU3CSH9_CL16530048_QB25647620_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 which may be the cause, since I did not do anything with it. I have no idea how to use it if nessesary?

yup in order to get the new version, you need to flash the latest bootloader using ODIN (the one from latest stock ROM is preferred but the one in the thread works too)

I bought my daughter a used SM-T820 and was unhappy with the performance with the latest firmware so I embarked on a 6-hour journey to get this debloated ROM to work. Through many trials and tribulations, I finally got it all done and working so I thought I would come back here and save the next person some pain. Here are the steps I followed to install this ROM, paying specific attention to steps 13A/B and 19A/B:

    * NOTE: Formatting Data WILL wipe everything [including the internal storage]. So remember to make proper backups!

(1.) Enter Download Mode (Hold Power+Vol.Down+Home)
(2.) Flash BL, AP and CSC from stock ROM of choice with Odin v3.14.1_PatcheD
(3.) Go through startup configuration, skip everything
(4.) Turn on WiFi and connect, then go to System Update and click "Download and Install". You may need to do this multiple times if it fails, eventually it will succeed. Don't update or anything, just go back to settings.
(5.) Set time from automatic to manual then set date back more than 7 days prior.
(6.) Activate Developer Mode. Developer options should show OEM Unlocking option. Be sure to confirm it is showing and allowed.
(7.) Turn on USB debugging, allow PC to connect, accept the connection (check always allow)
(8.) Put tablet into Download Mode again
(9.) Flash TWRP with Odin (AP slot) but make sure Auto-Reboot is unchecked.
(10.) Restart with Power+Vol.Down+Home but quickly switch to Power+Vol.Up+Home to go right into TWRP
    (11.) Allow Modifications
(12.) Click Wipe -> Format Data, type yes and let it complete
(13A.) Install Magisk and then oreo encryption disabler (for Oreo)
(13B.) Install Magisk, then RMM V3 bypass and then Dmverity & Encryption Patch (for Pie and newer)
(14.) Restart system and let it boot (may take a while)
(15.) Skip through all the startup stuff, set time to manual and set back a month or more
(16.) Turn on WiFi and connect, then go to System Update and click "Download and Install". You may need to do this multiple times if it fails. Eventually it will succeed.
(17.) Developer options should again show OEM Unlocking option. Confirm then turn on USB Debugging and allow connection.
(18.) Reboot into TWRP and Format Data again
(19A.) Install the ROM (Magisk is already included, no need to install again) then oreo encryption disabler (for Oreo)
(19B.) Install the ROM (Magisk is already included, no need to install again), then RMM V3 bypass and then Dmverity & Encryption Patch (for Pie and newer)
(20.) Wipe Dalvik and cache then reboot, no need to confirm OEM unlocking or turn on developer apps again (unless you want them)

Very helpful thread, though some steps were confusing: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/newbie-friendly-twrp-and-root-for-samsung-s3-tablet.3885114/

(10.) Restart with Power+Vol.Down+Home but quickly switch to Power+Vol.Up+Home to go right into TWRP
    (11.) Allow Modifications
(12.) Click Wipe -> Format Data, type yes and let it complete
(13.) Install Magisk and then oreo encryption disabler
(14.) Restart system and let it boot (may take a while)
(15.) Skip through all the startup stuff, set time to manual and set back a month or more
(16.) Turn on WiFi and connect, then go to System Update and click "Download and Install". You may need to do this multiple times if it fails. Eventually it will succeed.

(18.) Reboot into TWRP and Format Data again
(19.) Install the ROM (Magisk is already included, no need to install again) then oreo encryption disabler
(20.) Wipe Dalvik and cache then reboot, no need to confirm OEM unlocking or turn on developer apps again (unless you want them)
