Thinking of putting lineage on this thing because it's very laggy on stock. Apps take awhile to open, keyboard takes awhile to pop up, stutters in places, etc.

My question, before I do all of this, is does lineage improve these issues dramatically? Stock has enough cool features that I wouldn't want to give up for marginal improvements.

So after more than month of intensive testing, i discovered:

- App's preview are blank in multitask menu
- Settings FC when tap on ambient display in battery settings
- Little but annoying battery drain (about 8% per 9 hour night)
- Sometimes apps seems to works slow (e.g settings)
- Voice calls are not working
- Camera FC

Rest is working fine for me. I hope future updates improve speed, eliminate bugs and bring us something new. I would try omni oreo or clean aosp but it is hard to implement and i am not experienced enough to bulid it.
At the end big thanks to Valera for bringing this to all of us.

I only used the stock rom for about 2 days, so don't have the best feel for it, but I think there was a definite improvement from switching to LineageOS.

With stock I remember quite a bit of lag and freezing in the first few minutes after boot when I assume things were starting up. With LinegaeOS, I haven't ever experienced that. (I'm using LineageOS without any gapps or google services, so that may be a reason.)

It might be my imagination, but the S Pen feels even more responsive with LineageOS and Squid vs stock and Samsung Notes. The only other tablet that felt this good to write on was the iPad Pro.

So yeah, I'd give it a try. :)

I've noticed that `system_server` uses a constant 8-9% of CPU regardless of what I'm doing or apps are open. Does everyone else have this? Any ide what the cause is?

I'm not running gapps or any google services, so I'd expect the system to not use so much CPU when no apps are open and it's idle.. (battery life is still decent, however)

Just Look at OP. Battery drain is mentioned

@Valera1978 Is there any possibilty of making a new build for us t820 owners? Unfortunately the dev that was making builds for us, is gone due to his broken tab. Im sure alot of us would appreciate it. I would be willing to test any builds. Unfortunately i dont have the skills to build a rom.

I believe the 820 & 825 are the same, with the exception of the LTE radio, so I'm hoping we can port it to our WiFi version without too much hassle. I'll try to get in touch if I have any luck.

Can someone else using this rom run the Sunspider benchmark?

https://webkit.org/perf/sunspider/sunspider.html

Browseing has felt a bit slow, and I thought it was because I was using Firefox, but after testing Firefox, LOS Browser, and Chrome, all are showing Sunspider scores of 900-1,000ms, which is quite a bit slower than most published Snapdragon 820 results. Googling shows Tab S3 benchmarks closer to 400ms..

So I'm wondering if there's something specific about my tablet or is it possible this rom is causing a slowdown relative to stock rom?

Not sure if this info is correct, but it appears the the max cpufreq is not set to the highest available frequency:

It hasn't worked.

I'm not responsible for any damage to your device of any sort.
By flashing this you take responsibility of anything that happens.
Process at your own risk!

If you want to check firmware - please make backup. Better to store all partitions, at least efs and may be modem.

Instructions
1. Install twrp
2. Download the zip(s) - firmware and Google Apps additional package (optional)
3. Backup all partitions (it least efs) and store somewhere - it need to do - because you can loose imei
4. Full wipe all
5. Flash firmware and gapps

Known Issues
sound 2 skeakers only for now
power drain (tablet is not in deepsleep, it's almost all time in the awake on min 300 freq) - look like this is common qcom problem, at least I got the same stuff on my old nore pro 12.2 p905 with qcom 800

Thank to my good friend @bonuzzz
Thanks to LineageOS team

Thanks for your great job.
Hey, dude. I've been trying to flash it on my Tab S3 (T825) following the instructions, but it always shows an error followed by a number 7. I'd like to use this custom ROM 'cos the the stock one occupies a lot of space. I tried to root it and uninstall some apps I don´t like but this procedure makes tab restart in bootloop.
Anyway, thanks.

First: Dont quote whole OP
Second: this is only for Samsung Tab S3 T825 with LTE
Third: Flash rom with TWRP provided by OP followed by full wipe (format /data, wipe system, dalvik, ART, cache and data)
