[ROM][SNAPSHOT][8.1.0] AOSP Oreo for Xperia SP

I had no time this weekend - sorry. I'll try it soon! I'd like to update TWRP to at once.

@globe79, well I just went ahead and updated my TWRP to 3.2.3 (couldn't find the zip for and flashed aosp-9-20190422-huashan-adriandc.zip along with Open Gapps arm-9.0-micro-20190601.

There were a couple reboots and little bit of lag initially, but now (couple of hours later) it seems fine. Sort of forgot about doing a factory reset, and didn't realise how much would be preserved from the previous version, even with the new Gapps in place.

Overall, the ROM seems at least as smooth as before. I actually had some lag on Oreo, but less(?) with this one (this time, I started by flashing the boot.img, does that make a difference?). Not an expert with these things really... :silly:

Obviously not the fastest in 2019, but still seems like a great ROM. Will be testing it more now.

Thanks once again @AdrianDC, much appreciated. :)

Videos don't play but there's sound in the background, anybody facing the same issue on 9.0?

And when am using opera mini and I enable data saver, phone freezes, fades and reboots

Jan 26, 2018
No problems here, YouTube video clips work fine as does the Opera Mini + data saver combination.

@Bugemberoger, are you still having problems? I'm sure you did a clean flash and all that?

How can I do a screenshot with the phone?

The lateral camera button doesn' t work but is really not a problem.

I successfully installed this ROM.
I used SuperSU but I cannot drop a root terminal.
If I use adb shell with the phone in debug mode:
$ su
/system/bin/sh: su: not found
I tried also termux.

How can I root the phone?
I tried also Magisk but TWRP stated that the installation failed.

But I can see:
The structure being different from regular Android boot partitions,
these tools never worked to edit the content of the boot image
present on devices like the Xperia SP, T, TX, V, ...
I must avoid to damaged the system or I will be log out from some apps.

Did someone try it on the Xperia SP?

Edit: I saw on the first comment:
Devices confirmed
Sony Xperia SP (Huashan): phhSuperSU, SuperSU

I did not try that.

Now the phone cannot boot, it ends in recovery.
I copied the recovery.log and also the kernel log.

In the first there is an error:
parsing languageFile
parsing languageFile done
I:PageManager::LoadFileToBuffer loading filename: '/twres/ui.xml' directly
I:Checking resolution...
I:Scaling theme width 0.666667x and height 0.666667x, offsets x: 0 y: 0 w: 0 h: 0
I:Loading resources...
I:Failed to load image from indeterminate013, error -1
I:Loading variables...
I:Loading mouse cursor...
I:Loading pages...

Can I fix the phone with TWRP recovery terminal or something?

    About the release
My Android 8.0 bring-up started in April with my AOSP Master project.

and ready for the evolution along the weeks. Though 8.0.0 introduced
more hardware changes and improvements, it was ready for about 75% of the needs.

    • I use it as daily since July on Huashan (SP) and Mint (T)
    • For now, Camera is removed on purpose as I'm working on it. The initialization fails in the middle
    • Bluetooth worked up to July, and since then the list is empty due to timeouts. Being looked at
    • Binding with already paired Bluetooth devices like car radio should work but rare user-unfriendly conditions for now
    • Installs and works properly with MultiROM current release
