I had no time this weekend - sorry. I'll try it soon! I'd like to update TWRP to 3.3.0.0 at once.

@globe79, well I just went ahead and updated my TWRP to 3.2.3 (couldn't find the zip for 3.3.0.0) and flashed aosp-9-20190422-huashan-adriandc.zip along with Open Gapps arm-9.0-micro-20190601.

There were a couple reboots and little bit of lag initially, but now (couple of hours later) it seems fine. Sort of forgot about doing a factory reset, and didn't realise how much would be preserved from the previous version, even with the new Gapps in place.

Overall, the ROM seems at least as smooth as before. I actually had some lag on Oreo, but less(?) with this one (this time, I started by flashing the boot.img, does that make a difference?). Not an expert with these things really... :silly:

Obviously not the fastest in 2019, but still seems like a great ROM. Will be testing it more now.

And when am using opera mini and I enable data saver, phone freezes, fades and reboots

No problems here, YouTube video clips work fine as does the Opera Mini + data saver combination.

@Bugemberoger, are you still having problems? I'm sure you did a clean flash and all that?

Open Gapps micro (YouTube not included by default). It's all there in post #861.

Push <power> (and keep it hold) and right after push <vol-> in addition; release both keys, as soon as the screenshot was token

I successfully installed this ROM.
I used SuperSU but I cannot drop a root terminal.
If I use adb shell with the phone in debug mode:

$ su
/system/bin/sh: su: not found

I tried also termux.

How can I root the phone?
I tried also Magisk but TWRP stated that the installation failed.

But I can see:

The structure being different from regular Android boot partitions,
these tools never worked to edit the content of the boot image
present on devices like the Xperia SP, T, TX, V, ...

I must avoid to damaged the system or I will be log out from some apps.

Did someone try it on the Xperia SP?

Just read instructions and flash the zip to make magisk work.
No idea whether newer magisk versions work but for sure older ones worked fine.

It was a long while ago, I don't remember.
Can't you just experiment? Try magisk 17 or 18 or 19. It's not like your phone is gonna blow up.

Try and see, it probably won't work without the boot bridge.

I have no way back if something goes wrong, since I don' t use the phone much I don't know if it is worth the effort.

BootBridge worked for me with Magisk 20.1. Installation with the Magisk zip alone doesn't damage the phone, it only throws an error and aborts.

I did not try that.

Now the phone cannot boot, it ends in recovery.
I copied the recovery.log and also the kernel log.

In the first there is an error:
