[ROM] SPH-L720 Lollipop OD2 Deodexed De-knoxed De-bloated 6-07-2015

Should NFC be added back to this ROM? (I removed it to minimize security risks)

Hey guys thanks for the awesome and smooth ROM. Really liking it. I just had one small problem, I flashed "V5 full ROM deodexed, but not debloated" which is the latest one including modded SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk. What I needed is stock SystemUI and Framework-res. If there is link or you had it please give me.
Thanks in advance.

I am currently running the debloated version and have noticed that I can no longer use speech to text with any keyboard. Could the needed files have been removed?

Thanks

Go into Settings/Language & Input/Default Keyboard/Add Keyboard, add Google Voice Typing. If it's not there then GoogleTTS was removed.

That must be the issue. I installed the Google TTS from the app store and enabled it but I still do not see the "Microphone" icon on my spacebar in the keyboard so that I can do Speech to text?

Hey thanks for the nice smooth ROM. So far so good as I'm loading things up. Seems to have worked flawlessly with flashing the OD2 modem on first. I'm on the MF9 bootloader.

One question, though. In the "About Device" section, at the bottom, it has a section titled "Knox Version" with multiple lines of things under it with version numbers.

Why is this? Do I have knox now? I downloaded the V5 stock_deodexed_not-debloated version. Is that one not de-knoxed? I thought they all were?

Lol. Knox has been all up in your phone since 4.3 JellyBean. The bootloader is only one aspect of it. If you're running Samsung it's got Knox deeply embedded in it (it got really bad in KitKat to the point it has not been fully removed). We can remove all the apps but parts of it are still in there. Some aspects are positive (more security in Phone, Messages, Email, etc) and some are negative (it tries to prevent you from downgrading firmware, you won't have a problem with this as you don't have the newer bootloader)... overall you won't even notice it's there (obviously you hadn't yet, so just try to forget you saw it).

All removable knox files and folders were taken out before cooking this ROM. Here is a list used for the deKnox:

/system/etc/secure_storage/com.sec.knox.seandroid
/system/etc/secure_storage/com.sec.knox.store
/system/container
/system/containers
/system/preloadedsso

Bridge.apk
ContainerAgent.apk
ContainerEventsRelayManager.apk
KLMSAgent.apk
KNOXAgent.apk
KnoxAttestationAgent.apk
KnoxMigrationAgent.apk
KnoxSetupWizardClient.apk
KnoxSetupWizardStub.apk
KNOXStore.apk
KNOXStub.apk
KnoxVpnServices.apk
RCPComponents.apk
SPDClient.apk
UniversalMDMClient.apk
SwitchKnoxI.apk
SwitchKnoxII.apk

Sorry for another noob question.

I see that this rom is DeOdexed. I've never used a deodexed ROM before. I'm just looking for a stock ROM that hopefully doesn't install a new bootloader (Trying to avoid the knox bootloader that makes flashing difficult).

Is a deodexed rom going to run differently to an slightly more experienced than everyday user like me?

Do I need to do anything special to flash it? Or do I just go ahead and flash it like I normally do?

Thanks.

Deodexed ROMs are easier to modify, so you'll be able to enjoy more mods. You'll need the OD2 Modem or you won't have data.

Thank you to the OP for a putting this together, and to everyone that helped me! We're up and running. There have been a few minor bumps but everything seems ok.

When I was using the JFLTE-GPE (Google Play edition) I really liked their sound package (Notifications/etc). Does anyone have those somewhere? If not i can just back up this image of my phone and then go back to the old image to get them, but I figured id ask.

Also, is there a material dark theme like in the GPE? I liked that better than the light version.

Thank you All!

Netflix not playing

hi, noob here.
thanks for the rom. this's my first try to root/flash....etc. all the fancy stuffs you guys doing here :)
i was able to get my s4 to use this rom, everything smooth. only one problem is that Netflix doesn't work for me. I'm able to login netflix and see the movies listing, but when i selected a movie, it'd just say "loading" and it loads forever. I thought i had a bad internet connection so i tried on another phone and it loads right away. i even tried to change dsn to use google 8.8.8.8 (found the suggestion from other site). i did do the clear cache/dalvik/uninstall then reinstall netflix. it'd just never work, just loading and loading.
is it because of the rom? or netflix doesn't work on 5.0?
is there a way to get it fixed?

thank you
