To those of you using GCam, what version are you using? I haven't found a reliable version I'm happy with and right now that's the only reason making me think of upgrading to another phone.
I've been using GCam_5.1.018.177470874.41362666__SG7Exy_V8.2.apk
And GCam_5.1.018.177470874.41362666__SG7Exy_V8.3beta.apk

I had to disable in developer options camera.enable_micro - if you get to setting quick, it stops the initial crash

It still stutters on startup but if I click o r go to settings first it can stop it. But I wish I could figure out what causes that initial stutter, it almost looks like a focus detection issue

Image quality is so high that can resign myself to as is I guess.

Edit, been experimenting also with turning off portrait initial zoom setting and some startup stuttering may be less? Still unsure.

echo issue

for those who have an echo issue, i need some subjects to test some changes in the mixer path file and give me a feedback.

i am focusing cellphone calls and also voice/video calls over the internet.

please pm me. i think i made some progress but without u i cannot verify that.
I would like to be test subject, since I just upgraded my phone, but could you please provide a walkthrough on how to go from stock to this rom?
I am on baseband G93FXXU8ET12
thank you!

Hello Roberto W.

I have tried to solve my echo problem several times in the last year and a half. I could not solve it with the mixer_paths_0.xml.
Obviously it also has something to do with the carriers, because the echo problem occurs with one carrier and does not occur at all with another.

In the end, nothing worked and I went back to LOS 16 this summer.

Nevertheless I can test your mixer path file in the next days if you 'd like me to. Just pm me (preferably in german).

Is there a way to get the Stock Camera of Galaxy S7 on this Lineage ROM?

I would have mained this ROM if it wasn't for the downgraded camera quality

The S7 custom ROM FloydQ keeps the great stock camera so i guess it is possible?

The 8.3 beta, which was the latest version on this site.
Works pretty snappy compared to other versions that I've tried but also has memory leak after a few pictures sometimes (as in freezes). But the quality of the photos is good.

Hello Team,

I have to ask you for help in my case, specifically I installed this rom according to the instructions, but I ran into some problems.

At first I installed the latest TWRP by ODIN, however after rebooting I got bootloop. I backup the original samsung roms with TWRP and then installed LineageOS 18.1 and it all booted up nicely and worked fine.

Now I want to go back to the original samsung rom, however when I restore my system backup in TWRP after reboot I have bootloop again.

Do you know any solution to fix this problem and get back to my system from backup. Or how to unpack TWRP backup files to be able to read files - folders with files. I was wondering if I can restore the backup and it will still be bootloop, can I install a clean bootloader from the original samsung rom using ODIN?

Thanks for any help

@Ivan_Meler I wanted to install the latest 18.1 update from October 5. But the file is named as herolte and not hero2lte so twrp won't let it be installed. I see that both Google Drive and Mega file downloads are named the same. Can I go ahead and rename the file to hero2lte and install it with no problems?

Oops. Didn't notice that, thank you.

Fellow Lineage 18.1 users- What are some good apps to use for Gallery and for File Manager? I'm currently using Gallery app by Photo Gallery Tools and File Manager by Xiaomi, but they function quite slow on my phone and have ads. The UI is nice on those though.

November security update build is up here is a brief changelog
- Merged upstream wireguard kernel changes
- Merged November 2021. Security update
- Synced with LOS source
Not too many changes in this one as you can see as i spent most of the time focusing on LOS 19 build (Android 12)
which is coming along great (Just some gralloc work left to do and sensor hal needs some attention before first public builds)
Big thanks to everyone who supported this project as always as its thanks to them that this project is still up and running, Enjoy new build and stay safe

Samsung Galaxy S7
While I'm mostly happy with this ROM (currently running the September build without any added Google stuff), there are a few apps (Spotify, fennec (aka firefox), also some games) that hang occasionally for a few seconds.
I cannot reproduce the issue but I suspect this is a problem with the ROM and not in the individual apps. Is this only me? Is there something I could have done wrong (e.g. started with a wrong Vendor ROM?)
Any hints (also how to debug this) very welcome.

One minor problem is: after a restart the home screen is mostly empty, i.e. all apps placed there disappeared. Only the "built-in" apps stay. (WIth one exception: RxDroid (from the F-Droid store) stays on the home screen.)

    January builds are up nothing major in them just usual security updates,
    Also regarding camera that stops wroking after prolongued use,
    I've figured out whats causing it and im investigating a fix for it but due to weird nature of bug.

    Once again big thanks to everyone who supported this project and helped cover the build server cost and got me a coffee.
    Enjoy new build and stay safe in 2022

    Hi. Has anyone else got a problem with video chat software? For me the camera crashes after a while. I found this bug report which seems to be related: https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/3564.
    1
    Yes, Been having the same issue. Whats App lasts for about 10 mins and then the video gets distorted and drops.
    I had this issue with whatsapp video too. But I dont think the issue is connected to video chat. There already was an issue with recording video for too long, where the camera would stop working and you would also have to reboot to make it work again. Seems the same issue to me. Its not a dealbreaker for me tho.

    Btw for anyone else having low media output volume...I have fixed this by editing the mixer_paths_0.xml which is located in system/vendor/etc:

    Code:
        <!-- Output volume stage -->
        <!-- media playback volume -->
        <path name="gain-media-handset">
            <ctl name="HPOUT3L Input 1 Volume" value="23" />
            <ctl name="HPOUT3L Input 2 Volume" value="23" />
        </path>

        <path name="gain-media-speaker">
            <ctl name="AIF4TX1 Input 1 Volume" value="32" />
            <ctl name="AIF4TX2 Input 1 Volume" value="32" />
        </path>

    I changed the values to 50 everywhere (which might be too much for some people).

    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

    -

    Take a note that a lot of LineageOS features have not been completed yet this is not a device bug and please do not report those
    in this rom thread as you will be reported to moderator also do not post bug reports for known issues or bug reports without proper
    a) Logcat
    b) proc/last_kmsg (or proc/kmsg)
    c) data/tombstones
    d) dmesg

    Also do not under any circumstances post bug reports if you are using substratum themes or unsupported magisk modules or you have performed any system modifications

    Install gapps right after installing the rom itself dont try to boot to system before that if you want to use gapps
    NikGapps and BiTgapps were both tested and working

    Downloads:
    Google Drive
    Mega.nz
    MD5: c11c0eff8156ed1b7668db4cd00a46b3

    I do this in my free time so bear that in mind when you notice I didn't fix known bug in next available build, Currently i work on this alone and i am not one of those kangers that just copy source and claim it as their own work,
    if you want to support the project feel free to buy me some coffee paypal.me/ivanmeler

    Feel free to join telegram group with early builds progress updates and some off topic stuff Join

    Due to requests from some users I added signature spoofing support to the rom which allows usage of MicroG
    you can simply install MinMicroG and grant it needed permissions for signature spoofing to make it work as intended
