I'm using Lineage 19 and my banking apps are working with fingerprint lock idk if PayPal works (you can try with this lineage or try with 19)

Estoy usando Lineage 19 y mis apps bancarias funcionan con el bloqueo de huella no se si PayPal y derivados funcionen yo creo que si (Puedes probarlo con este lineage o probar con la 19 y android 12)

I have some issues with Gps.
For exemple
In whats app i can't share my location.
I was outside but never found my location.

Google maps works but need a min to found my location.

I don't have the issue in stock rom.
Is there any fix?

I have recently installed the lineage-18.1-20220109-UNOFFICIAL-herolte.zip on my Samsung S7 SM-G930W8. Everything seems to work, except when I put my sim card in the device, I get a prompt that asks me to either UNLOCK or DISMISS (see screenshot). Pressing UNLOCK does nothing. Pressing DISMISS ignores the prompt. Either way, calling does not work.

My SIM card works fine on another phone, and it is not locked.

Has anyone encountered this before? If so, any suggestions?

I have a problem with the camera and instagram;
The instagram always crashes and the camera keeps giving errors and needs to restart to work. Does anyone have a solution for this?

So here are some progress updates, This time about something that was bothering a lot of people.
So lets talk about camera which would stop working after prolonged use.. This issue has been bothering me for over 2 years now but it was one of trickiest issues to deal with as described here https://github.com/8890q/android_device_samsung_universal8890-common/issues/5

Reason why this was so tricky is because camera lib is completely blobbed and there is no source for it so it required some reverse engineering (a lot of it)
first time around we just removed all fd closes from lib which left file descriptors open and once there were too many camera would stop working.. Anyhow since i had a bit more time due to corona i was able to really invest that time into android and look into and finaly i got a solution that is not hacky and resolves issues with camera once and for all (Or as long as google doesnt decide to drastically change something again)

Anyhow camera wont be crashing after ~20 min of use anymore and you wont have to reboot phone to continue using it.

Once again big thanks for all donations that help cover the build server cost and that got me coffee (I really needed coffee to fight with android fdsan weirdness to fix this haha)

New build with camera fix implemented will be out in a few days together with february security update and few other bug fixes, This affects all of 7 and 8 series exynos devices (8890/8895)

Well here we go february security update builds are up, with camera fix backported from lineageos 19 builds, here is a brief changelog
- Merged February 2022. security update
- Fixed issue where camera would stop working after prolonged use
- Removed unused custom ld.config.txt that was overriding main one
- Switched to few source built ril related libs
- Added support for changing wireless charging sound
- Misc performance and stability improvements
- Synced with LOS source

Big thanks to everyone who supported this project as always as thanks to them i am able to cover build server cost.
New LineageOS 17.1 builds will be out in a few days with camera fixes backported too

Has anyone every have an issue with the camera app when taking a selfie it flips the image where selfie mirror is on or off....any help with that???

Hello,

I have two questions and perhaps someone could help:
1. I use the 18.1 November-Build on S7 Edge for nearly 3 month now and have the regular problem that the w-lan is disconnected when the screen goes off. The network is reachable and has no problem. To reconnect the w-lan has to be switched of and switched on. It seems that the w-lan completely crashes. How to fix this?
2. How do I install a new version? Download it from here, put it on the card of the phone and simple use TWRP to install it? Should anything be wiped before? I want an update with no data-loss! :)

Standard "dirty flash" would do the trick by booting into TWRP and flashing the new ROM. Check the other notes at the start of this forum in case I've missed something. please be aware that this is not fullproof and I've had situations where Open GApps or NikGApps have lost the playstore for various weird reasons (not always) and I've had to reformat the phone, re-flash the ROM and reinstall all of my apps and data. so the lesson here is. Always do your backups and copy things to your PC (photos, media, music, data etc) in case you need them.

1. turn the phone off and wait 15 seconds
2. boot into TWRP by holding the power, volume up and the middle hardward "HOME" button (bottom of the phone) at the same time.
3. copy across the latest ROM from your PC to the phone using a standard USB cable (sometimes you have to reboot the phone a couple of time so that the windows PC/Laptop recognises the interal file directory or make sure you have the right USB drivers. You should be able to see the existing TWRP folder and the other already installed OS files.
4. Wipe the cache only which should leave all the existing apps and settings as they are.
5. install the above new updated ROM zip file.
6. reboot the phone into system.
7. all should be well.

Once again. make sure you back your files up, nothing is perfect. Have I missed anything team?

Hi, is screencast working again for hero2lte? I read in a changelog from past september that screencast returned or was fixed for hero2lte but I was testing Android 12 at the time and never could have a try

Hi guys,

Really dumb question.

I currently have an Exynos S7 edge which is running the latest version of firmware 8.0. I wanted to downgrade the firmware to do location spoofing (just to test things for fun) but latest security patch etc. means I cant do it, if I'm correct? I would need to go back to a early android 7.0 2017 firmware version & I don't think this is possible, ODIN hasn't worked so I'm guessing not?

Anyway I need Google play services to be a really old version like 12.4ish I think. I cant tell if "spoofing" in the title refers to this or something else, lol.

If I'm wrong which I probably am, can anyone point me in the direction of a ROM or firmware I can use to do this?

you have a canadian phone locked to a netwrok, not a sim lock.
you can call samsung canada directly and they will give you the code to unlock it free.

Here we go, april 2022. builds are up, here is a brief changelog
- Drastically speed up app launch time (more info about that here)
- Merged April 2022. Security update
- Imrpoved performance and battery life by disabling some unnecessary logging
- Removed AudioFX which was causing audio issues
- Synced with LOS source

Some performance changes have been backported from my 19.1 builds and you can read more about them in that thread, Larger apps hould launch much quicker now and smaller ones will see some improvements too.

Also as previously stated if somebody finds good ebay listings for s7/s7 edge from eu feel free to forward them as ill be replacing my s7 edge with a new one (or with normal s7) because my screen is sort of messed up so i relay on scrcpy to see whats going on with it while testing stuff

Also a reminder that you can install builds via OTA updates from settings menu.

    Before installing January 2021 build remove fingerprints and delete /data/system/locksettings.db this is needed due to mobicore version change which helped fix fingerprint with 3rd party secure apps

    Another surprise build is up, here is a brief changelog

    - Audio: resewt mixer gains to default values since we have lifevibes working now and handling it
    - Audio: Reworked incall audio handling in mixer paths to disable 2nd mic that was picking up noise
    - Audio: Reworked voice commands input mixer paths
    - Audio: Fixed voip calls not picking up microphone due to wrong paths (e.g. apps telegram, whatsapp)
    - Replaced vulkan lib with symlink to mali lib (Like on stock) (This saved some space too)
    - Kernel: Merged upstream aosp 3.18 kernel
    - Kernel: Merged latest upstream cpufreq (DVFS) patches for dynamic voltage and frequency handling
    - Kernel: Enabled CONFIG_HZ_300 for faster interaction handling
    - Cleaned up public.libraries.txt
    - Resolved few more sepolicy issues
    - A lot of perforamnce and stability improvements
    - Synced with LOS source

    There are a lot of general improvements in this build and since i just came back from vacation i decided i could as well publish it early instead of waiting for next month so enjoy, Once again big thanks to everyone who supported this project with donations as i do this in my free time for free and their donations help offset build server cost and get me coffee.

    New build is up here is not so brief changelog

    - sepolicy: Allowed cbd (Modem daemon) service to read proc_net sysfs
    - sepolicy: Allowed gpuservice acces to graphics_config_prop
    - sepolicy: improved debugfs handling for mali and ion
    - Fixed video recording in a lot of apps (Might require clean flash for some users)
    - Updated blobs to N935FXXS8CUD1 (April 2021 security update)
    - Fixed edge case where fast charging switch would be ignored because its chwoned too late
    - Compiled NFC hal from source (Google released samsung nfc source
    (https://android.googlesource.com/platform/hardware/samsung/nfc/), (Should improve stability)
    - Upreved livedisplay implementation (to 2.1) with native flicker free support
    - Added lifevibes blobs for audio effects and enhancements
    - Merged May 2021 security update
    - Synced with LOS source

    this build had quite a lot of improvements that took quite a bit of time to fully test and implement and hopefully should be near perfect now.
