Hello, can i install this custom rom? i have 710emw, android 10, software v30e.
Still dont have magisk and dont know how to install orangefox. Dot OS looks great

Maybe i can help you with that. I just figured it out later how. You dont need fastboot mode just stock android 10 rom. Must unlock bootloader i guess (Not for T mobile)

Does it have Screen resolution setting like the stock rom. It drains battery fast when in 1440x3120 WQHD display. I wish it have that setting

No, and reducing screen resolution wont affect battery life at all, you can't reduce the psihical ammount of pixels on your screen its just at what resolution your software elements and apps are rendered at.. it wont make any difference in battery life. check this

First things first, i would like to say a massive thank you to :

for this great rom and "Kensley Innocent" for the Youtube tutorial.

I am new "ish" here, even though i have been using,
custom roms for 13+ years, starting with the HTC Wildfire.

I have the LMG710EM (o2 UK) running 30c firmware
and official unlocked boot loader.

After reading this thread and others, that included,

"Making sure i could unbrick my phone for free if needed",

I took the plunge and installed this great rom.

I updated my firmware to: 30f

after i installed the firmware, i got this error message, once it booted up:

"Current version is not available for user. Can't find matched cust for NT-code",

the phone worked fine, apart from this annoying nag screen.

I followed this youtube tutorial,

DotOS 5 Simple guide to install Android 11 using a Custom ROM LG G7,

I installed DotOS 5, as the youtube video, apart from,

i could not ADB Sideload the files? (powershell error),

once in orangefox recovery, i copied all the files to the,

external sd card and installed them from there.


Once dotOS-05 was installed the silly nag screen disappeared.


This is a great rom, their are a few bits missing,

but as LG might be giving up there mobile phone business,

along with them being slow to implement updates,

could android 10 possibly be the last official rom????.


Having "R" is a real bonus for are great device,

hopefully we will get "SC", fingers crossed.

With this release of dotOS-05, the android security update,

is dated 5 March 2021.


The most important extra functions for me on a LG phone are,

Knockon (dttw), and Banking apps/google pay,

and these are both working,

only knockon needs a harder knock to wake the phone.

Being an ex-owner of the G2 and G4, Knock-on(DTTW) was very important,
with this rom, i need to tap the screen a bit harder to wake the phone.

As my previous post, having G-Pay & banking apps is important,
as well as security updates.

I personally don`t use many functions, of this great rom,
but having nice extras like, 4 way device controls,
System, Recovery, Bootloader, Shutdown,
and the ability to do a, complete Nandroid backup is great.

Having my phone up to date is important to me and with,

LG officially left the Smartphone market

having the great rom will hopefully keep my G7, relevant for a few more years.

what did you miss from the stock rom?,

i`m not able to customise the lock screen,
but that could be due to apex launcher.

How about the camera????.

Yes G-cam is not working, i use 2 camera apps,
Proshot and Open camera.

To sum up this Rom,

its works great, good battery life, for a limited smart phone user like me,
it`s has up to date security patches dated: 05-03-2021
and you get most of the extra goodies that come with android 11.

Having the ability to have custom recovery and full backups.

I will be using this rom until the next update from,

Always on display does work, it just consumes more battery because stock uses some magic tricks which only stock rom can use, its called ambient display here.

Thank you for your reply,

YES, Always on display is working, it is called "Always show time and info"
under the "When to show" heading, in the "lock screen" settings.

I can see that this will drain the battery quickly,
as the detection sensors don`t turn off the display when activated.

its a known bug, every rom on g7 has it... the most you can do is to use pdanet

I haven't see a fix yet.

Its just the app, if you use for example safetynet evaluation from playstore its gonna pass. You pass CTS its just that the app itself magisk its not updated to the last api key for verifying using latest safety net tests

Did everything right, everything is working okay except i can't hear anything from sim call and neither the other person can hear me.

You have to use 30D (Korean), 30B (Other) firmware to make DOT os work
