So basically, don't update to 26s if you want to unlock the bootloader without it locking on you. Got it! I just hope the x722 I ordered from Banggood doesn't have 26s on it... if it does, I'm complaining because the listing mentions eUI 5.8.

You can unlock it by downgrading to developer version from the first post.
Absolute no-no is trying to flash 026 stock over seller's (vendor) 020 through twrp recovery. Don't do that.

This is great news. Has anyone tried to get the info requested by the lineage devs ? I think he was asking to flash a special boot.img to determine what the problem might be.

I am concerned about the banggood TWRP.. It's clear that flashing 26s with it will brick but I wonder..

1. Can you flash 26s if you replace the TWRP with the x720 TWRP

2. Can you flash something like Lineage for X720 (for debugging purposes) without bricking.

1. Nobody tried to do that (if you speak about stock X720 recovery)
2. Yes, it is possible. You will be able to back to the stock 20S at any moment. Nothing except 26S firmware leads to hard brick

I am talking about the x720 TWRP recovery and wondering if the Banggood TWRP (if different) is causing the bricking issue.

If so - might be safer to do everything with the x720 TWRP instead of using the one from banggood (since we know it will brick for at least one rom)

we're fine.
I asked bangood if they could send me a copy of all the firmware package for x722, their answer was "You could try to reset the system here.https: //forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development / eui-5-9-23s-stock-launcher-eui-6-0-t361737 We just have this website to be upgraded recently. "

Hi, I tried to get my stock 20S, because I've deleted some system apps, and forgot to do backups (all that caused my bluetooth stopped working). As I said - my stock firmware was 20S, I have flashed the 01D via update.zip, and flashed that chinese .bat file via fastboot, but nothing happened, I still have 01D with chinese apps after reboot. Any ideas why?

Now flash vendor 020s (batyan/bangood).

2) 5.8.020S (firmware via fastboot) - Download the firmware (exactly as received from Banggood). There is Russian language and Google Play, there are no Chinese applications. The optimal version for those who want to install a custom recovery and root. Unlocking the bootloader is possible.
Instruction:
In the off state, hold down the Volume - and the power button to enter the fastboot mode. Connect the phone to the computer and start Start.bat. The installation will start automatically and the phone will reboot itself.
