INSTRUCTIONS
FLASH PORTED RECOVERY USING PC (FASTBOOT TOOLS)
Boot into the recovery [Power + Volume+]
Wipe Data/Cache
Install From Zip
Install From Sideload
Now Open CMD in Fastboot tools In PC. [DON'T FORGET TO INSTALL ADB DRIVER]
Write Adb devices , your should see the the device name something like mt8323
And now write adb sideload (The name of the Zip)
Restart / It Will Say Fix Root Its your choice to fix root or not (fix root will root your device!)
It takes time to boot for the first time

If there is any error comment and I will send another file

Thank you for the work. I wonder if this ROM works on Kobo Arc (not Arc 7), with OMAP 4470 1.5 GHZ dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM. Kobo Arc has Android 4.1.1 (kernel 3.0.31) while the update of my most frequently used app needs 4.1.2....What a shame. Please advise.

If it's has the same chip like mt8125, it will work after porting, but if it's not it won't work, they need to have the same chip to work, Kobo Arc 7 has quad core, I think It won't work, have j tried this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507886

Kobo Arc7 crash

My Kobo Arc7 crashed after recent "Update" Guess thats the end of what was a good reader. Links not available.

Its often said there are "Many ways to skin a cat"** In a final attempt, I recovered my Kobo Arc 7 by creating a "New Account" with a different email. It worked perfectly. restoring all the links and applications.. I then went in to settings and closed the old account. My Arc7 is now firing on all cylinders. Thank you.

hello,can you tell me how to use your rom?
i install it under CM REC 6.0.3.6,installation aborted.

then i flash

If your rom is working that dont try this but if its not working then try this

Rename ctr for kobo to recovery
To test the recovery without permanently flashing, run the following:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
On next reboot, recovery will be overwritten by previous recovery.
Or to permanently flash recovery, run:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

When I do "fastboot boot recovery.img" the device immediately shuts off. With the stock recovery it rejects both ROMs (aborts after verifying).

Hey Rena, have you tried to flash recovery instead of booting recovery? To flash it's fastboot flash recovery (the name of the file).IMG
If so, try re downloading the recovery( cwm)
Are you trying using it's stock recovery or custom recovery which is provided with the thread? I've tried many times with the custom recovery and never gave any error with the modified stock rom. Try if you haven't done so already, and let me know, thanks

Hi,
I'm tring to use your guide but I cannot flash the kobo because the USB Debugging Option is not active and I cannot do it because I have the kobo locked in the first page ( the reason of that is the kobo cannot connect yo any wifi and so i cannot complete the firsts steps).. can you help me ? is there another way to flash without this option? thanks!

Hi there, have you flashed the ROM and then you cannot skip the first steps? If you want to, you can delete Device setup from the zip file which will remove it. You can then setup yourself
