what happens if one does factory reset from within the rom? (settings>about>backup & reset) does the root stay intact? is the custom recovery gone? just curious...

also, I'm on latest ne6 (updated with kies3), and want to install twrp with odin, and then this rom (mainly for root, and sd fix built in). What should I select to wipe in twrp if I want to do a complete device wipe (including internal storage)? on note 2 I was doing "format data" and pretty much everything from wipe list except sd, and I was fine...

When doing a factory reset within the rom root does not stay intact and you
loose any custom recovery and basically the phone becomes similar to stock
with all personal data and internal sdcard formatted/deleted.
Any apps you may have downloaded/installed from the playstore also gets
deleted.

Good Luck!

This is very strange but I am unable to unzip the files with either 7zip or WinZip. I downloaded the files twice thinking they may be corrupted but I get the same result each time.

Here is the winzip error

Extracting file: C:\Users\mscion\Desktop\Odin_N3_Files.zip
Extracting to "C:\Users\mscion\Desktop\Odin_N3_Files\"
Use Path: yes Overlay Files: no
Extracting Odin3-v3.07.exe
Central and local directory mismatch for file "Odin3-v3.07.exe" (general purpose flags - local: 2 hex central: 802 hex).
Severe Error: Local and central GPFlags values don't match

with 7zip I get the error

Unsupported compression error for Odin3-v3.07.exe

Similar for the other files.

Any ideas? Thanks!
I had the same issue and downloaded everything 3 times. Tried everything until I realized that mi 7zip file was an older version. Go to 7-zip.org and download the latest 7zip. I downloaded the beta version and worked like a charm. Hope it helps..

happened to me on my first phone... the one we all had issues with when the new release came out.. this is what I did..

make a backup first...
wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache.
goto downloader mode..
odin firmware NB4, let it boot up... u have stock recovery don't matter at this moment...

goto downloader mode..
now odin new firmware NE6.. that worked on the first shot...

then odin cf autoroot. - you can probably goto odin recovery, cause the problem I had with root, I had SU v1.97 which was problematic... you can root with v1.94 and he has v1.99r4 now which you might be able to skip the cf autoroot,

then odin twrp2701 or recovery of your choice.. and flash SU from chainfire...

Always wipe system when going to different Roms. Small ROM updates might not warrent it but I almost always wipe it anyway.

First. Thanks Jovy for providing the deodexed version of ne6. While I've been able to make a wifi hotspot with this rom it seems that the toggle for this is missing. Should that be the case?

Quick question. I don't have access to a computer right now but I'm rooted using the stock 4.4.2 with nb4 baseband.
Can I use mobile Odin to upgrade my baseband and modem then just flash the new updated stock rom?

Sorry. If I understand correctly, Mobile Odin Pro will not flash the bootloader. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899).

I have also been reading that the general consensus is to flash ALL 3 of the NE6 firmware parts/locations to avoid problems. In addition, many kernels, if not based on NE6, will not allow your deep sleep.

I hope it helps.
