after a lot of research I am going to try out Archikitchen. It's fairly new and is still supported. There is another one that sounds really good but it's been retired since 2013.

I Installed the de-bloated ROM and it works great so thank you again !
Now that we have a recovery and a base, is anyone interested in creating a CyanogenMod ROM for this device? Im willing to give it a shot but it would be my first ROM and Im not sure I can make time to make it in the near future. I went over the process and it looks pretty involved. Maybe someone would like to team up on it?

You can use a third party app and set the external as default.

I'm assuming that all the 7in versions will roll out around the same time. Speculations, but maybe 1 to 2 months. They already released lollipop for the 10 inch versions.

There aren't any that I have seen. Only for SM-T230 and SM-T230NU. And of course the 8in and 10in versions.

Sorry for the noob question...

Im on a t237p, downloaded philz recovery 6.5 by moon, set usb-debugging on, powered down tablet. Then plugged in USB, pressed power+vol down+home, pressed vol up on warning to get into download mode. Then I used odin with auto-reboot/F.reset time checked, selected PDA --> *.tar of Philz and clicked start. Operation completed successfully.

Powered off, then tried to boot into the customer recovery by pressing power+vol up+home, but it doesn't boot into Philz. What am I doing wrong?
