Hey guys im in need of some help. I have been playing around with my HTC Desire 530 (metro) variant, i managed to get twrp flashed and also obtain root.. Not sure where i went wrong, but i think it was after installing some xposed modules.. Anyways I ended up in recovery to factory reset and the second i swiped to do the reset i realized i hit the system button to Erasing the Os.. i Was never able to create a back up successfully because when i tried i was away from the house and my sd card was to small and i never remembered to get it done before i messed it up.. i Know how to run the ruu, i have the exe, the problem is i am running Linux Mint on an outdated Machine with one gig of ram so im not able to run A windows VM and Wine Dont have Usb support.. i found this forum and i flashed Both metro and t-moble boot.img and system.img that you have provided but both end up in a bootloop.. Oh and i have to flash them with fastboot because when i try with twrp it might get halfway through and randomly reboot.. i have

I have a MetroPCS Desire 530 with 1.36.1550.14 system, I can't copy the system.img to the internal memory because the phone reboots halfway, even flashing the files via fastboot it gives me bootlooping, I don't know what to do, because the RUU is not available at the HTC site.

What's could be the cause of the halfway reboots while copying the files, I had the same problem while trying to copy the Slim Desire ROM.

Please help me, it's not my phone lol...

Hi Droidoholics,

Me and derek20la have extracted the stock system.img/boot.img files from the Official RUU files. The archives are in 7z(7-zip) format and include both system.img & boot.img which can be flashed via TWRP.

*PLEASE NOTE* - These files are not to be flashed the same way as .zip files so please read instructions!

Install Instructions:

- Download compressed image for your device (Download links in 2nd post)
- Extract System.img & Boot.img from the 7-zip archive
- Move extracted .img files to your device storage
- Reboot your device and enter TWRP
- Select Install
- Select Install Image
- Browse your storage and select desired .img file
- Select desired Partition to flash (System Image or Boot)
- Swipe to Confirm and you're good to go!

PSA From derek20la: The Metro and Tmo software variants are completely interchangeable: band 12, VoLTE, Wifi calling, RCS messaging (stock text app only) all work. The only exception I found is that the Device Unlock app from the Tmo version will not SIM unlock an otherwise qualifying Metro phone.

If you need assistance just post a reply including detailed info about your setup/device and we will reply ASAP.

worked smoothly till after some days i woke up to find out that i got a Limited service, Emergency calls only, is it cause i flashed with a non metro/pcs or ?
