The 80% battery thing is really pretty much a non-issue with this phone unless you are going HARD on it for extended periods of time with zero access to any charging options.

I don't even think about the battery on this phone. This is literally the first Android phone I've ran in several years that I didn't have to plan my day around when the damn battery was going to die and be stressed out on some street corner hoping I don't get stranded by Uber because my battery couldn't hang tough in the city.

Total non-problem.

Man, tempting me to join the dark side lol.
Coming from Note 4, and Carlos's Dtux Rom. Kind of miss it honestly, the locked bootloader and lack of custom roms really blows. This device could be so amazing otherwise.

So, other than the battery and Samsung pay, any other bugs in doing this? Can I root with the latest update installed? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Digitel for your work with this, whether I take the leap or not. Much appreciated.

Welcome to the N8 Forums.

Yes, as of 2/22/18 U3BRA6 firmware's and below each have a targeted method to root the device and not trip knox ( 0x0 )

The method for each version is listed under SAMFAIL post in main Samsung Note 8 Development Section.

This is a super easy root method and can be reverted 100% back to stock if you choose rooted firmware isn't your cup of tea.

Pretty much basic root bugs - Some apps may restrict your usage due to root.
Screen will revert to very low frame rate sometimes during a wake-up and youll notice the screen is flickering, just lock and unlock screen again to resolve. (this is due to using a developmental bootloader and cant be fixed)
Battery stops charging at 80% ( again due to boot files )
But thats about it.

So far so good. The firmware runs smoothly but doing a dirty flash didn't work for me most of my apps didn't work and kept crashing. So it's best to do it the clean way if anyone was wondering. But I can't wait for the next update and the 80% battery is not fixed for the people who will ask again. But someone is working on an Oreo root and possibly fixing the issue if they can. So just keep on waiting and hoping.

Dev, do you have a list of what bloat was removed?
No, I dont have a full comprehensive list of removals.

The Pre-loads removed : Facebook, instagram, twitter, sprint id, lookout, all the preloaded edge pannel apps like yahoo, cnn, etc.

All carrier settings csc files etc but sprint are removed, so anything TMO, VZW, USC, BST, VMU etc was all removed.

All Knox elements are removed, container agent and secure folder, anything broken with root was removed.

Anything that was loaded that cant be added back was not removed. So like Spen etc is still working and unchanged.
Anything that can be re-downloaded from galaxy store or playstore was removed for the most part.

Awesome Dev, thank you for this list. No comprehensive one needed, this is enough. Will be giving this a shot later today after work!?

Hey, would flashing the Xfinity csc allow me to have service on this Rom?

Edit: Nevermind. Got it up and running.

This Rom appears to be running a lot smoother than stock!!! Time to see what battery life is like. Thanks again Dev.

awesome, glad to hear.

You can just unpack the .tar files for csc and get the /omc folder out of it and add it back to the rom for your own personal copy, this way if you flash it wont break your activation and require a odin fix.

Litterally just drag and drop into the zip and it will be okay. Dont try to unzip the rom and add it and re-zip it. This will break features due to symbolic links. Dont ever unpack the rom on windows lol
