Having issues. Updated to bra9 and tried to install 3mint, guy fawlks logo, and viper4fx. It causes system ui crashes. Odined and just reinstalled 3 mint and same result. System to crash. Please help

This is what keeps us wanting to come back and provide updates, feedback and get better. Been on vacation for the last 9 days then 2 days of work training.
Good news is I do have the latest update for our handsets the #ARB4 files and im porting all the mods over to the latest security update..
I have had some issues with dual speaker mod and some apps only putting sound into the ear piece. Im going to revert the mod to the OFF position indefinately in the next release and leave it up to the end user to change it on/off so you can understand how it works and turn it off if it has issues.
otherwise ill be updating things in the near future, id say by end of the weekend a update will be available to the masses.

BRB4 7.1.1 update is now in the op, in the changelog is the link modem for brb4
im currently setting up to stage a 8.0 update, but this is only if the combo files and such will support root, as of now, providing a update would mean no root, and you would need to odin the 8.0 CRC2 bootloader to run it. To come back to my rom you'll need to re-samfail with the U3 samfail method and then flash the rom..
Some may have noticed, some may not, but we do have a SAFESTRAP recovery for our device, i have linked it to the top of the op under flashfire. It works great and i flashed BRB4 with it, No issues occurred and works awesome.

If im on version q15 can i just flash brb4 right on top or do i need any prep work?
FWIW just upgraded from bootloade 2 to 3 and dirty flashed BRB4 ROM with no issues. However comsey odin wouldn't flash the modem with model mismatch errors. Regular odin just hung on initilization.

I would suggest using the wipe function in either twrp safe-strap or flashfire. Either way you Can dirty flash but in my experience most of the user data apps start to FC and need to be wiped to get it straight. Id recommend the wipe and clear of all stuff before flashing latest just to avoid bugs that can come from a dirty flash.
Regular odin would be needed to flash the modem or CP file, make sure it is the latest odin version as well.
I'm going to test on my end to double check, but sounds like it was dated Odin. Prince cosmy can only flash files that are modified and stock files fail because of the sha check skipping. Glad you found a ALT route tho to get latest modem installed, I still seem to have some issues with passing form LTE to LTE while using a continuous data connection like Pandora. Seems to get hung-up on 3G and not want to change back to LTE. Been this way since day 1 but otherwise does great.

are you talking about the initial samsung logo being changed as well? It does have custom boot animation for bootup after samsung logo, but if you are active under any carrier other then sprint it wont display, you would just need to move my custom qmg loop files to your perspective carrier omc location.
Splash Screen is not available to edit on Snaps yet...just exynos....
But like Team DevDigitel states, boot animations can be changed...

Unfortunately no, due to 8.0, the samfail path being patched and the sheer fact Samsung took ridiculous steps to put security checks on every partition.
We are unable to achieve a booted and rooted 8.0 due to the bootloader not having a combo variant to disable the dm / se linux security. Unless we can get gifted a eng build or similar its back to square 1. there is still a small team of devs looking for flaws day in and day out, but unfortunately we are all burnt out.
Cost to devote hours on end to reading code, testing routes etc has become overwhelming for all of us and just as we get close another check, another issue arises.
Ill be around, and im monitoring progress here and with the s9 series as they share the same issues in many regards. We will sooner or later find a way but the eta is non existent at the time. Im sorry to relay the bad news to the group here but sadly its the name of the game. Feel free to post q/a and provide feedback as im still here and running the n8, and probably wont be moving to the n9 either. Thank you all for the continued use and support of DevDigitel's work, we strive to provide a better experience for the development community.

Want to make sure I grasp this... The rom is 7.1, but I can still flash even though I'm on 8.0 but U3 baseband via samfail process and flashf app?
Yes u3 can be down graded to 7.1 to obtain root. Just make sure you never up the bootloader to v4.
Is anyone's camera app crashing when trying to use panorama or any of the plug-ins? I can only take normal pictures and Bixby image search but plug-ins crash the camera. It was happening before I updated and is still happening now that I updated
