If this is stock firmware with tweaks, I doubt xposed framework can be installed?
xposed for Marshmallow work, i tested it. But if you don't have a full Android OS you can't change what you don't have.

but it work and can be useful to change dpi on some android tv apps if you need the 320 dpi and for others things that you have in the Android TV OS based on your preferences.
you can change dpi with app settings module, 1.13 version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63835421&postcount=2040

Alternatives my friend, just alternatives, because i think that the user must be able to choose and not be a monkey in the hands of big companies.
I like when users are the real owner of their devices, and i hate when companies force users in a direction or in another at expense of all others companies and developers.

The Root is the first thing to be the real owner of your device, because i don't think you can be sure when another person have the keys of your house.
It's just a metaphor, but in the digital world, the users without root can be forced in the directions that big companies want.
Completely agree, it is miserable not having system root or access to /recovery right now...
Haha it is like I accidentally locked my keys in my house!

i'm very happy that i created this firmware, so many users now can understand the differences between Android and Android TV.
when you can install all apps from Google Play you can understand better the differences.

apart the graphic things, if you are not an Android developer, you can't understand well the core differences between the two firmwares.
and if you don't understand well this differences, you can't also understand what directions want big companies for you.

big companies want sell services and is normal, they prefer that you buy Netflix , movies in Google Play Movies, Youtube red etc.
Big companies for sure don't want that you use pirate software and i understand and approve, but to do this you can't lock an user in a cage.

I think that to sell services, you must create a good service that is more convenient that use a pirate service.
quality, easy to use, cheap are the key, but the most important thing is not create limitations for the users.

Is very simple change firmware with FlashFire, create two backup of the system partition and data and after restore one backup or another. All from inside Android without go in recovery. Only 3 minutes. Like a long restart.

But at end, you will select only one firmware. Every user can have their preferred firmware now that we have also StockRestyle.

StockRestyle is wonderful for the users that likes Android TV. If instead you are a more exigent user, full Android is for you.

The files and your procedure are correct, the problem is that in twrp you forgot to deselect "inject multirom" and you must be sure that the previous supersu that is inside the recovery is not write to the system. When twrp recovery ask, you must have system read only, not install the twrp prebuilt supersu and not inject multirom.

You must install only the supersu 2.67+ that you downloaded, that is a root that not write the system partition.

The twrp is old and have old stuff inside, this twrp by default inject multirom and install also old root in system. If you permit this, you have bootloop in android 6, but if you deselect and install only the downloaded root without write the system all work well.

Now that you know, reinstall the firmware with:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot -w

Enter recovery with the command:
fastboot boot your_twrp_recovery.img

Keep system read only
select the new supersu 2.67+
after selection, deselect "inject multirom"
Install supersu

And not install the old supersu if ask.

In the first setup, you must add only the settings shortcut, i wrote this in the second post.

However, to do this you can:

long press on the launcher page, like when you want change wallpaper or select widgets.

go in widgets, select nova activities ( red nova icon ), and in the list you can select settings. In this way a new icon for settings is created on the home screen.
You are creating a shortcut of settings app.

If you want change launcher, for example you want install Google now launcher, you can recreate the shortcut in the same way.

When i install Netflix from PlayStore then i have no 4k UHD Support.
I search the orignal netflix apk from Shield.
To have 4k you must use the Netflix TV app, only this app is enabled from Shield TV to have 4K.
But you can use also the normal app for better navigation and better also with bluetooth headset, but with normal resolution.

The Netflix TV app is already installed and work. you can install future versions or update also from apkmirror.com
http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=netflix&post_type=app_release

The TV version is already installed but when you install from google play, you will install also the normal version. You should have two icons of Netlix to access two different versions if you installed also the normal app from google play.

Hey Zulu99, I have been having google play issues with the stock rom so thought I would try your rom and it works fine. With stock google play on stock rom when ever I click on any app play store crashes. Was fine on 2.1, what did you do in regards to play store with this mod? Seems its specific to my account as a new account works. Very weird, sorry for the off topic!
