• Download Rom
• Reboot into Recovery.
• Perform Nandroid backup
• Perform full wipe in recovery. Wipe data/factory reset or for best results select "mounts and storage" in clockwork recovery. Format /cache /data /system /sd-ext. Be careful not to format /sdcard.
• Flash rom
• Reboot
• Enjoy

Flash at your own risk. These were made for the EVO but should work on the shift. If not they can be modified to work. PM me for Shift specific mods and I'll add them.

If I were you I would have a look at the updater-script before flashing anything here.

• Extract the zip
• Navigate to \META-INF\com\google\android
• Open the updater-script. I use notepad ++ on windows or gedit, nano or vi on linux.
• If you have doubts then replace the text in the updater-script with the following.

I just wiped and reflashed and it loaded up fine. I usually format cache/data/system in recovery before flashing though. Good luck.
