I would try z4root first.

So flashing back another ROM is not a problem?

Factory reset worked. I got some inconsistent stuff on the first attempt. Coming from a 2.21 ROM it seemed things like that Data Meter were still there. After the wipe it was gone. IMHO one needs to do a wipe before flashing this ROM.

Camera works. The interface has changed. There doesn't seem to be a quick upload via MOTOBLUR anymore (needs to be rechecked; also the facebook upload is missing; maybe a delete/add of the facebook account gets this back). The camera interface & librararies are similar to the Droid X as well as to the 3.6.390 update (yes, the one I could not install because I screwed up my boot loader).

Quadrant is around 1100 for me, which is the same as with 2.21 and the dalvik updates. Looks also like a few OpenGL ES 2 bugs have been fixed ;-)

Cityville works, which means flash 10.1 is fine and dandy (no comments please, farmville is blocked ...)

The gallery seems to still have issues. Some of the pictures I took the other day with a 2.21 rom are not shown. Same goes for some of the ripped DVDs. Puzzeling. Upload via facebook fails.

With MoreLocale2 you can activate more languages. German for example is also included, but not shown to choose in the language settings.

Now after working Factory reset i will try to flash another rom for the last time.

Later on (i think it will take 2 hours) i will post a nand backup for the pros here.

Edit: It is definitely not possible to go back to another rom after flashing this one!

All good news. Now we know where to get a real fix for the camera for other roms. Also this deblurred and vannilla might be a decent froyo rom.

What about touchscreen issues? Chinese froyo has been reported to have problems with multi-touch gestures. And bad/quiet sound quality in video recorded?

it is undowngradable, but you can restore nandbackups and flash zips from clockworkmod.

i tried it and i come from 2.51 and is rootable and it is a superfast rom.
i had to flash chinese boot only after restore my rom´s nandbackup, i think this new froyo t-mobile has a different kernel.
zero problems.

That won't work since defy recovery can't backup/restore kernel (boot.img) due to signature checks, am i wrong?
