I flashed this and all is great. No lag at all for me. I do have 1 question though. How can I remove the starting and ending animations and replace with stock ??

Thanks again !

UPDATE: SEEMS I spoke to soon. I just realized although it all seems functional, I do not have root ?
I want to run root.bat again but I cant seem to get adb to recognize the phone, even though device
Manager shows the phone attached. When I do adb devices it shows nothing. ANy thoughts ???
Did you flash the eng boot in the AP? You need it in order to root. If not, just go to Odin and run it. Then you should be able to root!

Enable developer settings, in there enable usb debugging and when the pop up shows in your phone, allow it to connect. (I had to click on revoke USB debugging authorization and reconnect the usb to get the pop up dialog)

Last time I update while on the stock rom, it became glitchy. Had to restore from back-up. Any suggestions to update or remove annoying pop up notifications?

Seemed to successfully flash with root, but now T-Mobile says there is an update available. If I recall correctly, I was told to NOT do an OTA update once rooted. Is this correct or should I attempt the OTA update? Sorry for the newb question!

Okay cool, thanks for the response. I also mistakenly thought I had root, but I do not. Can I easily achieve it now? And I'm also not sure on how to flash the QG5 now... =/
To get root if on tmo you need the eng kernel then run root.bat

I'm sure a base update will available soon

I guess I didn't do it right, since I lost root. I wiped everything the first time (during the setup for the new ROM) and lost root. I then started fresh, and this time did the second selection, which (if i recall correctly) said SuperSU would stay. I think I may just be an idiot and missed something completely obvious, so again, I apologize for my incompetence. If ya'll have the opportunity to try and point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. On a side note: Thank you to everyone that works on these ROM's and helps this community out! You guys are the bomb!

What's the current state of your device ? What are you trying to do?

I believe I just got it. I had the custom Nougat ROM installed, and also wanted to have root. I misread the post and was expecting root with it (which is 100% on me). I managed to run root.bat from one of the files from a previous post on root, and just checked it with RootChecker. It said root was installed properly, so I think that should do it. Is it possible that a reboot could cause the loss of root, or no?

I have been taking a needed break. I will update all my s7 roms including this one in the next few days
We are so appreciative of all your efforts jrkruse! I love being able to customize phone with 3Minit Battery etc... but retaining Samsung pay. It's the best of both worlds. I never thought it would be possible. If now I could only find a decent back up utility like Titanium to work without root then my android experience would be perfect. I've tried Helium, Holo backup, smart switch, and so many others. Nothing really works efficiently to save app data without root like Titanium. Oh well. A guy can dream. Thanks Jrkuse.
