Of course, random reboots stopped now... 😄

I would, again, like to express my gratitude and admiration for the developer. This rom is so fluent it's amazing! Unbelievable that this works so well on a almost 10 year old device! 🙏

I am however, experiencing at times rather severe WiFi issues, like some other here, for instance @kmmo here above. And when the WiFi drops the device sees no networks and it doesn't immediately help to switch the wifi off and on again, might take a little time to find the networks.

Sometimes for instance music streaming to stereo through bluetooth can stutter violently when browsing just random sites that are not necessarily content-heavy. Other times no stutter even when web content is more demanding. I don't know what that is a sign of.

I am not experienced tester and not really sure how to pull logs, but I could try if that would help the developer regarding those issues, if he tries to fix them. @phoval ?

Otherwise I will just try to reflash the ROM and see what happens...
As someone experiencing similar wifi dropping issues, resetting and reinstalling roms didn't help in my case.I just hope that developers will take an active interest in this issue and update it.

I can inform that there has been a drastic imrovement in the quality of the WiFi. And I am not really sure what that depends on. Only thing I've done was to install magisk and syslog - in preparation for taking logs to help the dev with the WiFi issue. Machines... :cautious:

So now for more than an hour I have only once seen that the WiFi signal has dropped but came back again by itself before it affected the music streaming I was doing from the device.

The bluetooth streaming itself has been quite steady until I opened the XDA page to write a new comment here. So now at the moments it's stuttering quite much but then calms down again. Do you need a log for that too, @phoval ?

------------------ EDIT ----------------------------

Aaaaaaaand there it was again. I guess the log is in order. Sending it on PM.

-------------------- EDIT 2 ------------------------

Or not. Anyone knows why it isn't possible to attach files to messages?

For me it was yesterday.
Mod Edit├┤Adding automated English translation├
I manually checked for Lineage os update and the update was confirmed. Is there a patch for Wi-Fi disconnection in the latest update?
4. Use the English language.

We understand that with all the different nationalities, not everyone speaks English well, but please try. If you're really unable to post in English, use an online translator. You're free to include your original message in your own language, below the English translation. (This rule covers your posts, profile entries and signature). You could try :- https://translate.google.com/ or https://www.babelfish.com/ or use one of your choice.

Sources in op seem outdated. It would be nice to update, even if I couldn't spot any changes that weren't from upstream.

There is a changelog on the download page that lists commits. It does show "Add sepolicy for qtiwifiservice to interact with IWifi hidl". Don't know if this is enough to fix it.

It seems to be a qualcomm specific change from upstream lineage https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...mmit/24b6f4de5642592add42fe74c9bac27f1d59cc31

If you have a successful log due to wifi disconnection issue, please send it to phoval. I'm asking because I don't know how. Check out the comment above by phoval. Maybe after checking, I expect something helpful

Many thanks to the developers! This ROM is working really well for me.

One note: when I first installed it it was quite slow, especially when switching between apps. The lag disappeared when I disabled gesture navigation and the nav bar and reverted to using the hardware buttons.

I'm impressed with how well this little tablet is holding up. I started using it again after it sat for a few years. It had a sticky back but that cleaned up with IPA and lint free wipes. It also rebooted randomly after I dropped it years ago. I fixed that recently by opening it up and reseating the battery connector.

I did manage to pull some logs but for some reason it is not possible to send them directly from the device. They could be sent by email which i offered to do, but so far no answer from the developer that probably is really busy. And I don't want to attach the logs here in the chat.

So i figured i would describe the wifi issues so ppl, and perhaps the dev can try and reproduce them.

It always happens while using Newpipe. More often when i am listening to Newpipe and streaming via bluetooth over to the stereo. And it happens ALWAYS when i am trying to download something within Newpipe app, that usually causes immediate wifi drop. Sometimes i even get a random restart. I hardly ever get wifi drop while just browsing, but it happens. I remembered a while back dev Valera, that was maintaining this tab before, made wifi patches for LOS 16 och 17. I tried them just for the hell of it, but of course i just managed to get a boot loop... :)

Then if i do manage to download something in Newpipe, it is not possible to play it directly in Newpipe. I get an error saying that no app is installed that can handle that sort of content (which there is of course). So if i want to play the downloaded content i have to go via file explorer. I figured it might have something to do with the apps permissions. When i check in settings and the list of default apps there are no apps listed for playing media. And there is no available menus for giving some app required permissions. I tried to give Newpipe unrestrected access, but that didn't help. Perhaps this issue is related to the previously mentioned impossibility to attach the logfile directly from the device?

I did clean install coming from stock the first time, and from LOS20 the second time. Same result, even more bugs the second time. Latest TWRP. The same with or without magisk, that works as expected.

----------- EDIT----------

I went back to LOS19. WiFi is perhaps more stable but downloading within Newpipe causes exactly the same sort of symptoms, wifi-drops, downloading error and even random reboot sometimes. I don't get anything like this on any of my other devices, some running on LOS19 for instance.

... it happens ALWAYS when i am trying to download something within NewPipe app, that usually causes immediate wifi drop. Sometimes i even get a random restart...

System:
* SM-T320
* Bootloader: T320XXU1BQB2
* lineage-20.0-20230401-UNOFFICIAL-mondrianwifi.zip
* Magisk 26.0
* BiTGApps-arm-13.0.0-v1.9_signed.zip (without setting up a google account)
* TWRP 3.7.0_9-0
* Clean install (format data and factory reset)

I've got no problems downloading videos with NewPipe

... Then if i do manage to download something in NewPipe, it is not possible to play it directly in NewPipe. I get an error saying that no app is installed that can handle that sort of content ...

When I click on a downloaded video (in NewPipe), I have to choose with which app to play. Both apps, i.e. MiXplorer and the built-in Gallery play the videos without problems.

You could try one of the following:
* Check if you have the latest bootloader / baseband for your device
* Check other WIFI acess points
* Check other frequency (2.4 vs. 5 GHz) / channels
* Go back to the (most recent) stock rom, check if it's better, start from scratch

According to my experience, disconnected Wi-Fi is a chronic problem in LineageOS. Don't waste time trying to change OS version or reinstall. Infinite thanks to the developers, but I wonder why this issue isn't fixed with every new version. Of course, the normal use time is longer, and it may be my own problem. The important thing is that it doesn't automatically try to reconnect right away when the Wi-Fi is disconnected. If we can't fix the disconnection issue, we're hoping for a patch to force an immediate and quick reconnection river attempt when disconnected.

I must say this is not really my experience. I have/had many devices and phones through the years, right now even a N5110 that is running on the LOS19 without any wifi problems whatsoever. I'd say that it's something with this particular device that is making it difficult for the developers. The previos maintainer, Valera, had to make a wifi-patch for several LOS versions...

Thank you kindly for your answer, @pocketrule !
Not sure about the bootloader/baseband for the device, i thought i had the latest since i got the device recently and the last update it had was of course years back, since it is quite old. But i will check that, and the roms, perhaps try several. It is strange that some devices are having the issue and the others are not.
As for wifi itself - not sure what you mean by 'other access points'. You mean other wifi-networks? The one that I am using is my home network, only 5Ghz, and none of my other devices has any problems with connection.

I had njo problems with wifi at the beginning of using this lineageos version, but I have the impression that it is getting worse, with continuous dropouts. When I turn off wifi and on again, it seems to work smooth for a while. I also noticed that sometimes the tablet shuts down withnout any reason while it is charging. Maynbe disconmecting the battery will solve it. Anyway I am whining on a high level, overall I am glad with this rom

    Thank you for the great rom everything is working great except for one thing I cannot get an external SD card to be formatted as an internal storage any ideas?
    If you can't format your external storage as internal one you're lucky! If you had succeeded, you would certainly have had problems. I remember of many reports about problems (lost data, disappearing shortcuts etc.) of users who tried also to enhance their internal storage.

    You should check if you can transfer data, especially large files like photos, music, video files to the external storage. To reiterate and to be clear: I've not seen a single report of a successful format as internal storage for various devices in the last few years.

    I tried to reproduce the the WiFi connection problem the last few days with my old backups from LOS 17 / 18 and 19.
    It was not possible for me to run in the problem..

    I recommended anyone who has WiFi problems, go back to the Stock Software
    and than clean reinstall the LOS Version..
    I'm 100% sure that is an router settings or connection problem.

    Doesn't the t320 device or Lineage OS support the 80 mhz frequency band? It's not an exact fact, but after changing the Wi-Fi frequency band to 20/40mhz, it seems that the disconnection was noticeably reduced. I don't know if it will be helpful, but I'm sharing it for similar people who suffer from Wi-Fi disconnection.
    Imho you're mixing up frequency with channel width.
    The frequency band is either 2,4 or 5 GHz.
    On 2,4Ghz the channel width is 20 and 40 MHz.
    On 5GHz it's 20, 40, 80 160MHz.
    Both bands are working for my T325.
    BUT as recommended before my Fritzbox has separate SSIDs.
    In my router there's no option to set the channel width.
    Btw I didn't encounter Wifi probs.

    Superb piece of work by @phoval ! Super grateful for your time and effort in maintaining/updating the OS for T320/T325 users.

    Used Lineage20.0 (20230401, BitGapps, Magisk) for 2 months daily on my T325 personal phone+banking apps with nil balances. Absolutely no lag/glitches. Noted improvement over 18.1. Just clean installed 20230527 today.

    Here's a comparison with Lineage18.1:
    • camera orientation in apps fixed in 20
    • eTar calender sync fixed in 20, did not sync in 18.1 need to download google calender to sync
    • keyboard+numbers in 20 vs keyboard only in 18.1
    • faster wifi speedtest 130+ in 20 vs 80+in 18.1
    • file manager heading collapse fixed in 20
    • restart "May 9" date bug fixed in 20
    • better battery charging auto-stop ~99% in 20
    • Similar 12h overnight battery drain, -3% for 20 vs -2% for 18.1
    Minor Points:
    • file upload in yahoo mail browser / app browser not allowed (Android 13 restriction? any workaround for multiple account? one account on app, the other account access via browser but unable to upload doc)
    • pull down menu buttons unresponsive at times (wifi button etc, tapped to switch off but wifi button remains lit, wifi did switch off)

    Hey all, thanks for this incredibly good ROM. It's really the best ROM ever for the tablet. If we can get the final settings adjusted, it would be a dream come true. Please, don't stop working on it - together we can get all the potential of our good old Tab Pro!!!!
    Imho it's finished for T325.
    Camera (both), Wlan WPA/WPA2 2,4 + 5GHz, mobile data, LTE, Bluetooth, speaker, headphones, mic, SD card 64GB, SELinux.
    Flashed with Bitgapps ARM v1.8 and Magisk.

    GPS idk as to wet outside.

    Hey guys, any progress on the adoptable storage?
    If we get this last piece of the puzzle done, it will be the most perfect ROM EVER for the Tab.... for a Tab from 2014!
    Adoptable is not working. only crash occurs. Tried different things but haven't much time to look at it.
    microg is included in the new build.
