Hello, i want to buy this tab and install this kernel, what is SOT on this tab? I'm mostly using the tab for surfing and reading books. No games.

My Tab came with 5.1.1 (OJ1) and I'm needing to flash to the (OH7) required for this ROM. Can someone please confirm if this site is a good source and also if that OH7 firmware from that site is free of the Revision 2 lock?

Also, I'm curious if I were to ever roll back to 5.0.2, would there be anything that would remain permanent due to the Tab being on LP 5.1.1 (OJ1) and/or from me having to flash up to (OH7)? ie....will flashing (OH7) be a one way street to where I can never roll back to 5.0.2?

With the direction Android / Companies are headed with all these lock downs, I want to avoid that darn Revision 2 madness.

Thanks.

You'll need to Odin OH7 before using this ROM. You have to have the same base on your device before flashing a ROM. It updates the modem and other parts so they will match the ROM.

To confirm, even if you're on the newer (OJ1) firmware, you can Odin to (OH7) without running into issues of running this ROM?

What about the baseband?

(OJ1) has U1 in the firmware name.

(OH7) has U2 in the firmware name, which means Revision 2 yes?

(PB1) the latest firmware also has U2 in the firmware name...

Please confirm that I am able to go from (OJ1) to (OH7) without the base band giving me any issues...

Thank you.

The U1 and U2 are have different bootloaders I believe.

Hi, I live in Germany and I have MM (UK version) installed. My device is the sm-t710, unrooted so far. Is it possible to root now, install Optimal Rom and stay on MM at all ???

Hey all. Sorry for not being here for the past several weeks. There's been a lot going on and spent some time in the hospital. I'm on the mend now so I should have some time to stop by now and then.

For those wondering, yes! I will be updating to latest firmware! Just need to find the time.
