Hey anyone,
I place on the app icons on the home screen
Is there anyway to get the icons stay after screen turns off?
I take of the icons that I don't want and put on app icons that I do want, but after screen comes back on they are reverted back to to original when rom booted the first time.
Goes for wallpappers and any setting I set.
Anyone have any setting to correct this..... or a work around?

Hey bigfau nice to see your work is still active, I moved on a few fones ago (note 2 ,moto x ) and now I have a OnePlus One 64 g , but still use my note on wifi only just because its fun

I'm trying to breath new life into my Note and I'm playing with BF's Roms. The links to some of the add-ons and kernels in the original posts appear to be to be defunct. Does anyone have the kernels? I'm currently playing with Blackstar X. Might give XI a try after I play with this one for a bit.

I might have fj's hotcakez kernel but I'd need to do some digging before I could confirm that
I probably have BSX too.... somewhere, but that would need some investigating before I could confirm as well
my pc took a dive a while back, I baked up most of my stuff onto external hd but I'm not sure bsx made it,, I'd have to look

The Toggle mods still seem to be active...at least the Blue one was. It's mostly the kernels and if possible the stock icons. I'm finding it hard to see with the stock Blac/white icons.
Running this on my i717 (with the Bell board from canada, was really cheap on ebay compared to the AT&T) and it's running fantastic. Didn't get the OC kernel installed, running stock kernel with root and kernel tweaker to set the CPUs to the performance governer. My battery isn't being zapped to death though because I was one of the happy souls that bought the 5200mah battery. 
Everything is super smooth, multitasking isn't so hot due to it using ~360MB of RAM at idle but this ain't bad. I really like the fact nova launcher is on it and I customized it to the point it's sexy. Love the GPU OC utility and games run great with it, even real racing 3 runs on it between 20-50FPS in race. Though I've run into one issue, and it's a simple one. I still love this ROM to death.
But onto my issue:
Com.Android.Phone stops working upon boot. I've tried cleaning the application data for Contacts like a few of my friends suggested, but it's not working. It hangs at boot for about 20sec then the phone app crashes with a prompt telling me so, and then restarts, and rinse and repeat. But it only does it twice or 3 times then it never bothers me again.
Anyone know a solution to this, and where I could possibly find that hotcakez kernel to flash? I love this ROM so much.
I am basically using this thing off of wifi as a mini tablet, as it does the job well. My SIM card would love to be in it, though. :3

Can't help you with h0tcakez. However blackstar blackjelly does have PhaZekernel available for it. Links for that rom and all mods still exist and I think you'll love it as well.

what version number/name h0tcakez kernel?
Version 1.2. All I know is that was the version designed for this, as it was originally included as an addon with the ROM a few years ago. There was a goo.im mirror on the page, but the site is basically down for a little while.
Oh, one last question. Is about 400MB of RAM use at idle with no applications running normal for this ROM? Or is there something going on?
Most stable ROM I've seen for the i717 so far. Great job!

Are you using tw launcher or Nova? If Nova just go to applications, Nova Launcher, clear defaults. Click your home key and select tw launcher. I may be off a bit as I'm using Blackstar Blackjelly as posted above.

Wasn't clear enough, sorry. I meant for the settings and the drop-down menu.
In the OP, it says BLN Control app is included, but I don't see it after installing this rom. I tried downloading "BLN control free" but it doesn't seem to work. Does it work natively, or do I need to install a different kernel? If so, which one?
Also, the changelog says "Native call recording" added, but I don't see it available anywhere. Same question as above, I would love to get that working too.

APP per dpi explained- With the new mod you need to change the dpi you wanna use in the build prop but you also need to match it for the keyboards and others inside hyb.prop otherwise it will not work well, just look at the zip attached in the OP and you will see how I did it .
- To add more apps to have there own customized dpi :
- take the facebook application.. its name inside of data/app folder would be facebook.katana-1.apk
- so in order to have it run its own custom dpi you would type
- pa.com.facebook.katana.dd=260
- 260 = the dpi you want it to use .
- No reboot needed just force close the application and voila (via applications menu)
- Play with it and try to make it work and post your pad.prop and results .[/B]

Here are some instructions with the new pad.prop:
I have found it easier to run tablet UI and push apps to higher than 213 to make them look like normal phone apps and keep whatever works tablet mode untouched. You also have the option to use Phone UI and force apps the apps that have a tablet UI into DPI 213 and under.
The build.prop and pad.prop work as a team.
The line in build.prop:
# for 480x800 panel
ro.sf.lcd_density=
decides if your phone is going to be base tablet or base phone.
-if you put 213 or lower it will be base tablet with the fancy buttons at the bottom of the screen and the pop notification from the lower right.
-if you put 214 or higher it will be base phone with the normal phone look
if you want tablet UI with forcing phone into apps that do not have a tablet UI or look weird in tablethow i do it)
build.prop line should be 213
pad.prop:
pa.system_default_dpi=213
pa.user_default_dpi=(whatever you want, just remember the bigger you go, the harder it is to see text on tablet UI apps)
If you want Phone UI with forcing apps with tablet UI into tablet mode
build.prop line should be 214 or higher
pad.prop:
pa.system_default_dpi=213(this make the status bar and fonts really small)
pa.user_default_dpi=(again, whatever you want, but the bigger you go the harder it is to see text in tablet UI apps)
AND AND AND AND AND
you have to put the apps that have tablet UI into /system/app folder
