Can anyone tell me how can I upgrade from ExperienceOS R45.0(Android 8.0.0)(encrypted, details in my signature) to the latest theOne3OS? Both are OOS based. Will Dirty Flash work? Will I need to format Internal Storage or just system & data is fine etc. Since this is the last update for OP3, want to be on it. Also please let me know the correct TWRP version to use for the upgrade with steps for flashing. Kindly help.

Sadly, clean flash doesn't work.
In TWRP when i finish the configurations in AROMA (not the AddOn file) at the end nothing is displayed as installed and when i choose reboot to system i get a message
"No OS installed" and then phone stays in the first OnePlus screen. Either OS is actually missing or fails to install.

I have unchecked google calendar one the debloat option screen,but it turned into Google Music
i re-flashed the rom by "clean flash" and found Google music wasn't one the debloat screen:laugh:

If you set TWRP in read only mode you won't be able to flash any file to modify /system partition, but systemless tools.

Hey it's me again from before, I got interested into flashing roms again and checked out a few videos, apparently I was encrypted. Is there anyway to remove encryption on the latest oos (9.0.6) so I could reflash this rom?

Stock OOS force encryption when system boot after you flash it, you can disable encryption following this guide

is it just me or does it fail to load mirrors for latest rom and addons for everyone?

edit: happened in firefox, could download addons in edge, after a few more tried rom too. firefox never worked, will try more just for testing...
edit2: firt zip was corrupt, so later tried wwith firefox and it found mirror. ignore this post.

edit3 following day: figured everything out, had to reset everything and add google account to sync apps from old backup BEFORE flashing addon package, otherwise i'd get a black screen trying to access google account adding. very nice system, have a feeling i'll stay here for long!

So I clean flashed this rom with twrp recovery and now I am stuck in the fastbot mode. The recoveries were flashing in fastboot mode but they wont boot. A fraction second of the boot screen and then bootloop. I used some advice from this thread and relocked mt bootloader and now I cant even unlock it (it says not allowed).
Is there another way?

Use the tool from the Unbrick Guide here on XDA and install OOS and boot into it. Then you can unlock, flash TWRP, Custom ROMs etc.

Success installing theOne3OS.5.0.8-OREO.Aroma.zip from https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=273932

Followed instructions on page one with extra attention paid to "Clean Install Instructions (TWRP Bootloop Fix)" section.

Both phones now bootlooping with no ability to even get TWRP up

Can
- run fastboot / bootloader on both
- run "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" from an admin prompt on pc and succeed but TWRP will not run after
- Power phones down

Any suggestions?

You have to format data to remove encryption and remove the password (it'll wipe your data)
